Dom and the Family Coaster ‘Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift’ Coming to Universal Orlando 2027. Universal Orlando made a major Announcement today, 1/20/2026, in a social media post about the future roller coaster being constructed on the former site of Rip Ride Rocket. “Get ready for high-speed, high-octane thrills on the new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster, coming 2027 to Universal Orlando Resort.”

Intamin Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster that is under testing at Universal Hollywood, and is now coming to the East Coast with an opening in 2027. Intamin officially showcased the new “drifting” ride vehicle at their booth in Orlando this November. While the Hollywood version is already testing, showcasing it in Orlando, Universal’s home turf, is a classic move to build hype for a local announcement.

Construction at the former Rockit site is moving at lightning speed, with footers and launch tracks already being spotted by aerial photographers. Plus, permits for Intamin have been reported on.

“Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” will feature 360-degree rotation of the individual ride vehicles as guests travel along 4,100 feet of elaborate track—the equivalent of nearly 12 football fields—constructed with sound reduction technology.

This innovative roller coaster, conceived to immerse guests within Universal Pictures’ exhilarating Fast & Furious universe, features groundbreaking technology designed to create a seamless sensation of drifting cars as guests spin in motion at fast speeds while speeding along an aerial track that winds its way over sections of the theme park.

Press Release from Universal Orlando: “Universal Orlando Resort is revving up for its next big thrill with Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift – a high-octane outdoor roller coaster that will join the Universal Studios Florida family in 2027.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will join an award-winning collection of coaster experiences at Universal Orlando Resort and is another exciting example of the incredible growth, momentum, and world-class innovation of Universal Destinations & Experiences. Universal Studios Hollywood will also debut its own, one-of-a-kind Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift outdoor roller coaster later this year.  As Universal Studios Florida makes way for this exciting new experience, Fast & Furious – Supercharged will permanently close in 2027.
