Pizza Ponte and Cookies for Kids' Cancer Raise $1,500 for Pediatric Cancer Research

Pizza Ponte and Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Raise $1,500 for Pediatric Cancer Research. Pizza Ponte raised funds to support pediatric cancer research through a partnership with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a national nonprofit founded by Gretchen Witt after her son’s cancer battle. Today, they are announcing that the initiative resulted in a $1,500 donation to the organization.

Throughout September, which is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, the restaurant sold a special decadent treat called the Cocoapizzie, a mix of cookie and brownie, with proceeds going directly to support vital pediatric cancer research.

“Every family has a story about dealing with cancer,” said Michael Gabriel, Executive Pastry Chef for Patina Group Orlando. “I believe it’s up to us to be part of the community of healing and finding a cure.”

Gretchen Witt, co-founder of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, which started after her son’s cancer battle and has since funded over $23 million in research, praised the support: “To have support from Patina Group at five of their incredible locations is just amazing.
