Stranger Things Finale Episode 8 ‘The Right Side Up’ Gets Limited Theatrical Release. Netflix’s Stranger Things Episode 8 ‘The Right Side Up’, which will run 1 Hour and 50 minutes, the same length as a feature film, will be shown in theaters for the first time in Stranger Things history. This follows a recent trend of YouTube and Television shows being shown in theaters across the US.
Limited theatrical screenings of the final episode will take place in more than 350 theaters in the US and Canada beginning Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. PT, timed to the finale’s global premiere on Netflix at the same time, and runs through Jan. 1, 2026.
“We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen,” series creators Matt and Ross Duffer tell Tudum. “Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect — dare we say bitchin’ — way to celebrate the end of this adventure.”
Additional information on how to attend, as well as specific theater locations, will be announced later.
