Disney is strengthening its longstanding relationship with Blue Star Families through a $2.5 million donation dedicated to supporting and strengthening military families nationwide. The partnership will continue to host unique events, including a special celebration for the 25th “Blue Star Books” event, which promotes reading and play among military families.
The “Disney Celebrates America” initiative will kick off on Veterans Day 2025 and run through the July 4, 2026 weekend, featuring special programming and experiences across Disney’s iconic brands.
Key Initiatives to Support Military Families:
- Exclusive Movie Screenings: Disney will invite military families across the U.S. to attend special movie screenings of new releases on military bases and in key markets.
- Park Offers: In November, Disney Experiences will unveil 2026 special offers for eligible service members at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and Disney Cruise Line to honor their service and celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
- Veteran Career Support: Disney will expand its participation in the U.S. Chamber Corporate Fellowship and Skillbridge programs, offering military veterans entering the civilian workforce vital networking, professional training, and hands-on experience.
- Media Coverage: ABC News will provide live coverage of celebrations and activations honoring veterans and active military service members stationed globally, with additional milestones covered across Disney’s platforms throughout the anniversary year.
The company stated that the celebration aims to “reflect on where we’ve been, celebrate who we are, and imagine the extraordinary future we can create together,” building on Disney’s deep legacy of support for veterans and military families.
