Surprise! Spaceship Earth Welcomes Guests Back Ahead of Schedule. SSE has been under refurbishment for the past 54 days, and was scheduled to still be down until October 25th, 2025. Instead, the attraction and Icon of EPCOT has soft opened early for guests enjoying the Park today.
Nothing major appears to have been changed on the attraction. We did not notice anything different on our first ride through. The ride does feel cleaner and a bit smoother. Except on the outside, where the attraction marquee’s lighting is back on and working for the first time in years!
Spaceship Earth will be temporarily closed for a routine refurbishment beginning August 25, 2025, and is planned to reopen later this year. It is set to officially reopen on October 25, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, but guests can now enjoy riding SSE again.
