Disney’s New Anime ‘Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation’ Sets October Release Date on Disney+.

Disney is bringing a new animated series to its streaming service, but it’s not quite what you’d expect. Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation, based on the popular Japanese mobile game, is premiering on Disney+ on October 29. The show is set in the magical world of Twisted Wonderland, a realm inspired by seven of Disney’s most iconic villains: the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Hades, and Maleficent. These “Great Seven” have their acts immortalized in seven magical dormitories at the Night Raven College, an elite academy for mages.

Not much has been announced or released in the US market, so finding information has been a challenge. We hope this changes as the premiere date gets closer. Disney has released an official press release just now. The US anime market has never been bigger, with new movies like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle breaking box office records, and the upcoming Chainsaw Man seemingly having the same demand.

High school student Yu is suddenly transported to Twisted-Wonderland, a world of magic and wonder. Now, he must face monsters, whimsical magicians-in-training, and mysterious incidents, all without any magic of his own. Will Yu ever find a way back to his own world?

“When a high school student is whisked away to a world of magic, he must steer clear of danger and work with his classmates to try and return home, in “Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation,” a new anime series debuting October 29 exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.

In the enchanted world of Twisted-Wonderland, seven legendary figures known as the Great Seven have been immortalized. Based on seven iconic Disney Villains: the Queen of Hearts, the King of Beasts (Scar), the Sea Witch (Ursula), the Sorcerer of the Sands (Jafar), the Fairest Queen (Evil Queen), the King of the Underworld (Hades), and the ThornFairy (Maleficent), the acts of these individuals would eventually inspire the creation of seven magical dormitories at Night Raven College – an elite academy for budding mages.

Unaware of any of this, Yuken Enma, an ordinary high school student from Tokyo, suddenly finds himself transported to Night Raven College and immediately begins alienating its residents. Unable to wield magic, unsure of the customs, and stunned by the new reality he finds himself in, Yuken is forced to navigate this strange new world, searching for a way back home. Constantly finding himself tangled up in adventures with his troublemaking new classmates, Ace and Deuce, will Yuken be able to find his way home before incurring the wrath of the Rose-Red Tyrant – Riddle Rosehearts?

“Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation” will be among the latest Japanese anime series to debut on Disney+, joined by the upcoming “Star Wars: Visions” Volume 3, further expanding the platform’s anime library. With Hulu on Disney+, bundle subscribers also have access to a growing selection of acclaimed series including “Murai in Love,” “The Fable,” “Go! Go! Loser Ranger!,” and the recently released “Cat’s Eye,” offering even more for anime fans to discover.

Step into a world of magic and mischief when “Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation” debuts October 29 exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu.”

A teaser trailer for the animated series reveals the show is set in a magical school called Night Raven College, a prestigious arcane academy for talented students from all over the world. The trailer introduces a protagonist who seems to have stumbled into this magical world despite not being able to use magic himself.

He is met with a mixed reaction from the school’s students, some of whom challenge his presence. The video also features various characters and scenes, hinting at a conflict related to a “solemn entrance ceremony.” The series is described as featuring Disney Villains in new forms.
