The Business of Popcorn Buckets: New Disney Collectibles Coming Soon.
We got a look at new Holiday 2025 popcorn buckets and sippers featuring Mickey Mouse, as well as an Easter release with Winnie the Pooh, and a Bantha sipper for the Star Wars May the Fourth celebration. A Toy Story Alien Sipper may be arriving even sooner, with the 30th Anniversary of Toy Story coming to theaters mid-September.
Popcorn buckets and sippers have become big business over the past few years, moving from simple souvenirs to highly sought-after collector’s items. While Disney Parks popcorn buckets have long been a fixture, this craze has exploded into the movie theater industry. The numbers speak for themselves. In 2022, AMC Theatres made zero dollars from popcorn bucket sales. The very next year, after releasing a variety of popular movie-themed buckets, their profits from these novelty sales soared to $54 million.
So what’s behind the craze? The psychology is a mix of nostalgia, the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), and the collectibility of limited-edition items. Disney has masterfully leveraged this. At Walt Disney World, we’ve witnessed the lines getting longer on release days for folks to get their hands on the newest item. The release of the Figment popcorn bucket famously caused a 7-hour line to form. While that won’t happen again, thanks to mobile ordering and virtual queues, it doesn’t mean people are buying any less. In fact, these new systems are helping Disney manage the incredible demand.
A “What’s Cooking with Disney Eats” panel at Destination D23 recently announced eight new popcorn buckets, sippers, and mugs coming to Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line. The panel also highlighted the history of these novelty items, which began with simple plastic buckets in the ’90s and evolved into the detailed, character-inspired designs we see today.
We always have the latest news about Disney Popcorn Buckets and you can follow along here.
Here’s a look at what’s coming soon.

Mickey and Friends are ready to deck the halls with their freshly cut Christmas tree and seasonal decor. This jolly bucket will be hitting the shelves this holiday season at Disneyland Resort, Aulani, and on select Disney Cruise Line ships.
Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar Holiday Zombie Mug and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Holiday Zombie Mug
Another can’t-miss item that will be available this holiday season is the Trader Sam’s Holiday Zombie Mug. This festive and fearsome drinkware has two versions: gold and red thread.
Disney Destiny Haunted Mansion Parlor Poseidon Mug
We are only a few months away from the November 20 maiden voyage of the Disney Destiny, and are excited to share new details about an item that can be found onboard the ship. This Poseidon Mug, showcasing the god of the sea, will be sold in the Haunted Mansion Parlor, a lounge that evokes inspiration from the original theme park attraction.
The Siren Mug
Sip among the 999 happy haunts with the Siren Mug, another novelty that will be available at the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Destiny. This double-sided design features a sinister siren who transforms into an elegant aquatic beauty in the blink of an eye.
Little Green Men Jetpack Sipper
Soar to new heights with this sipper, featuring the beloved Little Green Men from Toy Story – ready for takeoff and wearing a jetpack. These adorable aliens are always a fan-favorite, and guests will be able to find this item at Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, and on select Disney Cruise Line ships.
Winnie the Pooh & Piglet Spring Bucket
This popcorn bucket featuring Winnie the Pooh and Piglet in their Easter best is the cutest spring surprise. Featuring perfect pastel hues, a colorful Easter egg, and Pooh donning darling bunny ears, this sweet design is coming next spring to Disneyland Resort and select Disney Cruise Line ships.
Monsters, Inc. Scream Canister Bucket
I scream, you scream, we all scream for this Monsters, Inc. Scream Canister Bucket. The canister is an iconic symbol of the films that we have previously seen in other merch forms (including a water bottle), so its upcoming bucket debut at Disneyland Resort and on select Disney Cruise Line ships is scream-worthy.
Bantha Sipper
Banthas are quite large in the Star Wars universe, but this sipper transforms these hairy, horned creatures into a handheld novelty. This out-of-this-galaxy item will be available next year at Disneyland Resort and on select Disney Cruise Line ships.
