“Fabled” Kicks Off New Era for Disney Lorcana, Plus Glimpses of Future Magic from GenCon.
The Ravensburger team working on Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game has been on an incredible journey over the last 24 months since debuting at Gen Con 2023. Now, after releasing eight sets and more than 1800 unique cards and dazzling fans with the first World Championship in June, the next chapter of Disney Lorcana TCG begins with the next set, Fabled, releasing everywhere September 5th.
Ravensburger took to the streaming stage at Gen Con to show off new cards like Powerline – World’s Greatest Rock Star, new Disney Lorcana jigsaw puzzles, and info on upcoming Disney Lorcana TCG sets Whispers in the Well and the newly announced Winterspell coming in Q1 2026. Fans everywhere can watch all the announcements on the Disney Lorcana Instagram.
“Like many folks, I was watching the First Chapter release of Disney Lorcana TCG here in Indianapolis two years ago and was swept up in the excitement of a trading card game displaying such a palpable love of all things Disney,” said Elaine Chase, Chief Marketing Officer for TCGs at Ravensburger. “I feel a surge of joy leading this team as we embark on the next chapter of Disney Lorcana with Iconic new Mickey and Minnie cards and incredible franchises new to the game like A Goofy Movie, Zootopia, and Dumbo.”
Fans at Gen Con got a first look at cards coming with Fabled, including full details on the set’s new rarity of cards. Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Prince and Minnie Mouse – Sweetheart Princess are the only two Iconic cards found in Fabled. Much rarer than Enchanted, these beautiful cards stand out immediately due to full alternate artwork, unique foil pattern, and foil hot-stamped text and stats.
Ravensburger also announced six new puzzles featuring artwork from cards in the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game. Disney fans of all kinds will love stepping into the realm of Disney Lorcana with these beautiful, 1,000 pc. puzzles. Featuring a collage of beloved Disney glimmers, each of the six puzzles is themed to a color of magical ink that powers the realm of Lorcana. Fans at Gen Con were shown the artwork for the Amber, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire puzzles, joining the Amethyst and Steel already revealed. The puzzles will be on sale September 1 at store locations along with a Mickey Mouse – True Friend promo card.
After the celebration of Fabled, Disney Lorcana TCG is about to enter a mysterious phase. Whispers in the Well invites Illumineers to “Light Your Path” and solve the mystery of the ethereal whispers uncovered in Lorcana. Fans at Gen Con were able to see glimmers of Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps jump into Disney Lorcana as detectives. The pre-release events in game stores and Disney store locations for Whispers in the Well start on November 7th, while packs will be available everywhereon November 14th. “Flurries of Fun” is what you can expect in the next set Winterspell, coming Q1 2026. The Ravensburger team didn’t spoil too much about this set in the humid summer weather at Gen Con – the promotional snowballs all melted! – but fans should look out for Angel from Lilo & Stitch: The Series and a ton of winter glee.
