PlayStation’s Ghost of Yotei Popcorn Bucket Coming to Alamo Drafthouse. Ghost of Yotei is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is a standalone sequel to the acclaimed 2020 game, Ghost of Tsushima, and it is getting its own Japanese rice basket popcorn bucket release exclusively at Alamo Drafthouse.
Alamo Drafthouse is owned by Sony, which owns the publishing rights for Ghost of Yotei for the PS5, so the tie-in makes perfect sense. The Ghost of Yōtei Japanese rice basket popcorn bucket will be available starting August 2nd, 2025, and is priced at $40.00. These are limited editions and hand-painted by Sony artists. The popcorn bucket holds 100oz.
This is one of the first video game tie-in popcorn buckets to be released at a movie theater chain, without having a movie also being released. Other video game-themed popcorn buckets that we frequently see are those from Nintendo releases at Universal Theme Parks. Furthermore, we have seen video game movie popcorn bucket tie-ins at all the major theaters, such as Sonic 3, or the Super Mario Bros. Minecraft would be the most recent video game turned movie popcorn bucket releases.
