Liberty Square Riverboat Operating Hours Extended: Ride Before It Closes Forever July 6th. For the last few days of the attraction’s life, Libert Square Riverboat “Liberty Belle” will extend its operating hours. The new hours for riding along Rivers of America at Disney’s Magic Kingdom park are 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
We have previously reported on the closure of Rivers of America, the Liberty Square Riverboat, and Tom Sawyer Island. “Piston Peak National Park will be making its home in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The Liberty Belle steam paddle boat, which cruises the Rivers of America, means it is time to retire the attraction. The last day for guests to experience riding on the Liberty Square Riverboat will be July 6th, 2025. For generations of guests, the Liberty Square Riverboat has been a peaceful escape from the crowds and a nostalgic piece of Magic Kingdom’s opening-day charm.”
The last day to experience the Liberty Square Riverboat is July 6. The attraction and Rivers of America will close permanently on July 7 to make way for the largest expansion in history at Magic Kingdom. Read the Disney Parks Blog to learn more.

The closure of Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island on July 7, 2025, is part of the long-term transformation of that side of the Magic Kingdom. Adding two new lands over the next 7 years, 4 rides, multiple shops and dining locations, plus adding infrastructure, walkways, and an update to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad that reopens sometime in 2026.
