Celebrate Jaws 50 with The Viral Shark Sipper at Universal Studios

Celebrate Jaws 50 with The Viral Shark Sipper at Universal Studios. In my lifetime, I have seen one movie that made me never want to swim in the Atlantic Ocean ever again. Considering I grew up 60 minutes from the Jersey Shore, and would spend the summers on the boardwalk, and swimming, and that movie was Jaws! I was not fortunate enough to be old enough to see it as a baby when Jaws premiered on June 20th, 1975, but the repeated plays on Home Box Office were enough. Sorry, Max for kids today, er, HBO Max, or maybe HBO… whatever it is called now.

While there is plenty of Jaws 50 merchandise available, including nods to the ride, the big hit is the Jaws 50th Shark Sipper. How big of a hit? I witnessed a full shelf sell out in under 5 minutes at the San Francisco Candy Company store this morning. Let us not even discuss the scalpers, who one eBay’er had sold 35 of them yesterday alone at well over face value.

The Jaws 50th Anniversary Celebration at Universal Studios Florida runs from May 23 through July 6

Discover Universal Blog: “If you’re the kind of theme park-goer who needs to be drinking something at all times, then you’ll need the theme-park-exclusive Jaws 50th Anniversary Sipper. It’s a cute, little, and not scary shark dangling from a scuba tank-turned bottle with its monstrous jaws and a spear-headed rope for a carrying strap. You can get one of your in-park early in June!”

The Jaws 50 Shark Sipper is $24.00 before any discount. We used our Universal AP discount of $2.40, and our price was $23.01 after tax. Jaws Sipper is heavier than expected, and the scuba tank bottle is well secured inside the shark’s mouth with a twist and turn to lock it into place. The eyes look glassy and have depth to them, while there is a rope that reminds us of the boardwalk that is used as a strap. The strap can be removed. Jaws Shark Sipper has a flat bottom with the scuba tank and the open mouth facing upwards.

The base of the Jaws 50 sipper is the logo for the Jaws 50 Anniversary.

We found the sipper at the San Francisco Candy Company and the Universal Studios Store inside Universal Studios. We also found the Jaws 50th Shark Sipper outside of the Parks in City Walk at the retro Universal shop stand across from the Epic Preview Center.

When the Scuba Tank is removed from the Jaws 50th Shark Sipper’s mouth, he resembles the shark hanging on the pier at Universal Studios.

There are plenty of other great popcorn buckets and novelties coming out right now at Universal Orlando. Including the Harry Potter Time Turner, Tim!, and the new Epic Universe Popcorn Bucket.
