
Tomorrowland’s “Flight of the Navigator” Cool Ship Popcorn Stand Removed From Magic Kingdom. According to the Walt Disney World website, Cool Ship is temporarily closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen later this year. The whole stand, including the Cool Scanner misters, the Thirst Ranger “Flight of the Navigator” ship, has been removed.
Walt Disney Pictures Flight of the Navigator, released in theaters August 1, 1986 – An ordinary boy finds he is destined for a most extraordinary adventure aboard a futuristic spacecraft. That spacecraft prop was part of the Backlot Tour at Hollywood Studios for many years before being repainted and repurposed into the giant red ship we see sitting in Tomorrowland.
Now, a crane sits behind walls with various PPG Paint signs with different sayings from Disney movies. “I never look back, Darling. It distracts from the future” – Edna Mode, and “Paging Mr. Marrow; Mr. Tom Morrow”
