Stitch Crashes the Blue Carpet at World Premier of “Disney Lilo & Stitch”. The cast and filmmakers behind the live-action reimagining of Disney’s beloved animated film “Lilo & Stitch” celebrated the movie’s upcoming release with a vibrant, ‘ohana-filled world premiere in Hollywood.
The blue carpet at the El Capitan Theatre was transformed into a festive Hawaiian scene, complete with hula dancers and a traditional Hawaiian protocol ceremony. This joyous event marked the anticipation for the film, which is set to bring its brand of delightful mayhem to cinemas nationwide starting May 23, 2025.
The cast and filmmakers from “Lilo & Stitch” celebrated the film’s upcoming release in Hollywood earlier today. Guests in attendance were treated to a variety of Hawaiian-themed activities on the blue carpet outside the El Capitan Theatre before the daytime screening, including hula dancers and a traditional Hawaiian protocol ceremony. A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, “Lilo & Stitch,” opens exclusively in movie theaters on May 23 in Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, Cinemark XD, 4DX, and premium screens everywhere.
Cast members attending the celebration included Courtney B. Vance, Zach Galifianakis, Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Chris Sanders, Kaipo Dudoit, and Amy Hill. They were joined by director Dean Fleischer Camp, screenwriters Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, producer Jonathan Eirich, executive producers Tom Peitzman, Ryan Halprin, and Louie Provost, composer Dan Romer, and soundtrack artists Iam Tongi, Nyjah Music, and Zyah Rhythm.
“Lilo & Stitch” is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family. A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, “Lilo & Stitch” is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the Oscar®-nominated filmmaker behind the animated feature film “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On,” with a screenplay by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, and stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Chris Sanders, with Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis, and introducing Maia Kealoha.
The film is produced by Jonathan Eirich, p.g.a. and Dan Lin, with Tom Peitzman, Ryan Halprin, Louie Provost, and Thomas Schumacher serving as executive producers.
