From Gainesville to Disney: UF Alumni Celebrate NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship Title. With a stunning come-from-behind victory, the Florida Gators defeated the Houston Cougers 65-63 to become the NCAA Men’s Basketball National Champions in 2025. For fans and alumni of UF, this was a chance to celebrate, and what better way then at Walt Disney World and the Magic Kingdom, with some special magic!
Gators Alumni and Fans got an opportunity to show their congratulations to the Men’s Basketball Champions with Mickey & Minnie Mouse and Goofy. Cinderella Castle Hub was decked out in the school’s orange and blue colors.
On Wednesday, Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members who are University of Florida alumni and fans gathered at Magic Kingdom Park to deliver a congratulatory message to the Gators on their recent NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship. The devoted Cast Members decked out in Florida’s school colors, orange and blue, were joined by iconic Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy to share their excitement about the historic win.
The Gators, whose campus is less than two hours away from The Most Magical Place on Earth, defeated the University of Houston Cougars in the national championship game on April 7, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
