Bluey’s Big Play on ABC Family This Easter! Bluey’s Big Play is a theatrical adaptation of the Emmy® award-winning children’s television series. Join Bluey and her family in their first live theatre show made just for you. This is Bluey as you’ve never seen it before, brought to real life. Now, for the first time ever, Bluey’s Big Play will play on the Disney Owned ABC Family channel on Easter Sunday, April 20th, 2025.
Bluey’s first live theatre show, Bluey’s Big Play, is making its way to screens this Easter. Premiering Sunday 20 April at 7.30 pm on ABC Family and ABC iview, the televised production will transport audiences to experience the magic of the world-wide hit theatre adaptation of Bluey.
It’s Bluey, like you’ve never seen it before – for real life. With an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, the theatrical production features brilliantly crafted puppets and the voices that audiences will know and love from the award-winning television series, including Melanie Zanetti and Dave McCormack.
Starring:
- Bluey is an inexhaustible blue heeler puppy who lives with her mum, dad, and little sister, Bingo. She likes to laugh and have fun, but more than anything else, she loves to play games with her family.
- Bingo is a little ball of energy! She’s kind, curious, and determined and loves to laugh. More than anything, she loves diving into pretend games with her big sister, Bluey, their friends, and family.
- Chilli is Bluey and Bingo’s mum! She’s good at teaching her girls about the world and how to navigate its challenges. She needs to remain level-headed when the Heeler house gets out of control or gets caught up in a new game!
- Bandit is an archaeologist (he loves to dig up bones), and he does his best to use whatever energy is left after interrupted sleep, work, and household chores to invent and play games with his two little girls.
- Pat is usually referred to as “Lucky’s Dad”. He lives next door to the Heelers and often finds himself swept up in their wild games.
- The Gnomes are the residents of the Heeler garden, who are roped into all sorts of games and adventures.
Available in over 140 countries, Bluey is 2024’s most-watched series globally on Disney+ and the year’s No. 1 most-watched series on streaming to date through November among total viewers in the U.S., with more than 50.5 billion minutes watched (842 million hours). Fans of the Disney Parks are getting excited as Bleu was recently announced to be coming to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, and has already premiers on the Disney Cruise Line.

Nominated for a prestigious Olivier Award for Best Family Show in 2024 and having played to families all over the world, Bluey’s Big Play was filmed at the Theatre Royal in Sydney. The production features music specially composed by Joff Bush.
