The Little Mermaid Show: Last of the “Voyage” Removed from Hollywood Studios. Recently, the final signage for Voyage of the Little Mermaid was removed from Disney’s Hollywood Studios when the giant billboard came down. The marquee had been removed a few months prior. Now, the queue, benches, and turnstiles are gone. This is being done to make way for the new show The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, which opens May 27th, 2025.

At Hollywood Studios, in the morning, everything was removed from the queue, and just a few moments later, the area was blocked off by planter walls. You can still see the scrape marks on the ground from the benches being dragged away. Along with the benches being removed, the metal stanchions are gone, and the touch points for magic bands. Disney had recently used the area as a Chip & Dale meet and greet, with the chipmunks standing behind the shubs, waving and posing with guests from a distance.

While the posters remain, we would expect them to be completely replaced soon. Along with the press penny machine that has Disney princess pennies is also available, there is no telling how long this will last in this area.

The show building has not been used since March 15th, 2020, the day Walt Disney World closed due to the pandemic. Voyage of the Little Mermaid just never reopened. Rumors persisted that the building was in disrepair, which was never proven. Fans of one of Disney Imagineering’s best animatronics, Ursula the Sea Witch, wondered if we would ever get to see it in action again.
