Epcot Cosmic Rewind First Day Wait Times Revealed

Epcot: Cosmic Rewind First-Day Wait Times Revealed. The virtual queue has been removed from Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind as of today, and at Epcot, it was a roller coaster of wait times. While we saw a massive queue to begin the day, it leveled off at a respectable 60 – 85 minute queue. GOTG: Cosmic Rewind wait times and queue should fluctuate a little while things settle in, but all in all, it was well done and ran smoothly. Let’s take you through the process of rope-dropping Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind, which has been on VQ since May 27th, 2022 is being removed from the Disney Virtual queuing. No more having to wake up before the daily opening of the virtual queue, which happened at 7:00 AM EST every day. Now, guests can ride as many times as they want during the day at Epcot, and if guests want to Lightning Lane can still be purchased.

Arriving early is the best bet, we entered Epcot today at 8:40 AM and got a decent place in the new rope drop area on the side of Spaceship Earth (We did not have an early entry). Cast members made a few announcements regarding the new procedure, which they said they would briskly walk the guests to the queue of GOTG, which they did exactly at 9:00 AM EST.

The wait times for GOTG: CR started showing around this time and showed a 35-minute wait. By the time the guests were led to the front of the attraction, it had gone up to a 45-minute wait. We had Lightning Lane, so when we were close to the Nova Corp ship, they split the guests, LL to the right, and regular guests to the left. Upon entering the queue, which had stretched to the outside area, Starlord aka Peter Quill was hanging out and dancing for guests keeping spirits up.

Once we entered the Lightning Lane, which was empty the wait times had soared up to 160 minutes. That only lasted about 25 minutes because wait times began to fall at that point. The 160-minute peak waits, down to 130 minutes, down to 85 minutes by 10:00 AM EST. By noon, the wait had leveled off at 60 minutes and was hanging there. By the time of this writing, it is still 60 minutes.

Once inside the attraction, we saw a normal queue. The preshows ran smoothly and were not overfilled. Once exiting the Cosmic Generator Room there was no wait to go down the hallway to the ride itself. Disney has added new stanchions to funnel guests quicker down that long hallway. From the time we got to the park at 8:40 to the time we were officially off Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at 9:30 exactly, only 50 minutes had passed.

In conclusion, does rope dropping help you get on the big attractions at Disney World faster and quicker? Yes, yes it does.
