New D23 Virtual Gold Theater Event: The Happiest Place on Earth Celebrates 70 Years of Disneyland. Last Month D23 started a brand new virtual presentation for gold members, “Jolly Holiday – A D23 Musical Celebration of Richard M. Sherman” which was a paired-down version of the event that took place at the D23: Ultimate Disney Fan Event in august of 2024. The event went off without a hitch, looking and sounding great. Now, D23 is back for the second event called The Happiest Place on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland With Don Hahn and Christopher Merritt.
Since 1955, Walt Disney’s original park has been The Happiest Place on Earth for guests of all ages, visiting from around the world. And 2025 is going to be a year like no other! Beginning May 16, 2025, and continuing through summer 2026, the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will honor seven decades of happiness and many moments of joy in the making. You will be able to “celebrate happy” with limited-time entertainment, specialty food and beverages, collectible merchandise, and more.

D23 Gold Members are invited to a special evening at the virtual D23 Gold Theater featuring: “The Happiest Place on Earth: 70 Years of Disneyland With Don Hahn and Christopher Merritt”!
This magical evening will be hosted by Disney Legend Don Hahn and former Imagineer Christopher Merritt, who also co-authored the upcoming book The Happiest Place on Earth: The Incredible Story of Walt Disney’s Disneyland coming out on July 15, which is also among our D23 Gold Member premium item offerings for 2025!
Join Don and Christopher as they take you land by land and share stories, rarely seen photos, videos, and more about the creation and early years of Disneyland Park. Throughout the evening, interact with fellow D23 Gold Members, and participate in polls and quizzes themed to the event.
