Disney World Disability Access Service DAS Pass Extends Pre Arrival Registration Time from 30 Days

Disney World Disability Access Service (DAS Pass) Extends Pre-Arrival Registration Time from 30 Days. Guest wishing to speak to a Cast Member about eligibility and to go through the DAS Pass process have had the time extended from 30 days to 60 days before arrival. This comes on the heels of Disney Influencers everywhere exploiting the disability community when Disney changed one word last week on the What to Know About DAS.

Sorry everyone, I just got so sick of seeing the clickbait headlines, and influencers who have never talked about the disability community all of a sudden making headlines like: “Disney World Secretly Changes DAS Rules: What Does This Mean for You?” “DAS Overhaul: Disney Removes Key Word, Could This Impact Your Next Trip?” “Disney DAS Update: Is Your Family Still Eligible? Find Out Now!” ALL BECAUSE OF THE WORD “ONLY”

Before today, guests who were coming to Walt Disney World on vacation and had Park tickets had to wait until 30 days before the first Park day to apply for and go through the registration process. Now, Disney has extended the timeline out to 60 days. No word on why this change is happening, word is the Cast Member team in charge of determining if a guest is eligible or not has been busy, but not as busy as it was during the previous 6 months.

Disney has not officially given a statement saying why this change was needed, but it is helpful to those who wish to apply. It gives more time to be ready for the video conference call. We have been through the process and have listed out some helpful ideas for when you are going to apply. NOTE: we do not tell you how to get around the system, nor do we give away any secrets, it is just a way to guide folks through the whole process.

Here is the wording from the Walt Disney World DAS website.

Speak with a Cast Member: Guests can meet virtually with a Cast Member using live video chat to determine the appropriate services to support their visit to the theme parks, including DAS.

You may have a pre-arrival conversation as soon as 60 days before a park visit.

There is not an in-person option to request DAS registration, but Guests who do not register in advance can participate in a live video conference on the day of their visit.
