What Makes Disney Popcorn Buckets Worth Collecting
Disney started treating popcorn buckets as collectibles in earnest around 2022, and the shift has been significant. What used to be a simple refillable container shaped like a character head is now a full-scale merchandise category with light-up features, sound effects, interactive technology, artist collaborations, limited festival runs, and viral moments that create hours-long lines at the parks.
The appeal breaks down into a few groups. Families with young kids grab them for the practicality of unlimited popcorn refills throughout a multi-day trip. Disney adults collect them as display pieces and shelf decor. Resellers watch for limited releases that spike in value on eBay within hours of selling out. And casual visitors pick them up because walking through the park with a Monsters, Inc. canister that lights up and screams is genuinely fun.
Disney also controls scarcity deliberately. Festival-exclusive buckets, mobile-order-only releases, and two-per-guest purchase limits all keep demand high and resale prices steep. If a bucket you want is announced, it is worth moving quickly.
How Much Do Disney Popcorn Buckets Cost (and Are They Refillable)?
The standard refillable popcorn bucket at Walt Disney World costs $14.29 and comes with your first filling of popcorn included. Refills run $2.75 per refill at any participating popcorn cart and are valid for the length of your stay, not just a single day. There is no limit to the number of refills you can get.
Premium and specialty buckets are priced separately and are higher. These are the sculpted, themed, or interactive designs that come out for festivals, seasons, and character launches. Prices on premium buckets typically range from $22 to $50+, depending on complexity. The Disneyland 70th Celebration talking Mickey bucket, for example, launched at $50.99. Premium buckets also come with popcorn included at the time of purchase.
At Disneyland Resort, the standard refillable bucket price is slightly different from Walt Disney World. Refills at Disneyland are generally $2.25 to $2.75, depending on the bucket type and promotion period.
Purchase limits apply to most specialty and limited releases. Disney typically allows two per guest per transaction. Some highly anticipated releases, like Bluey items at Disneyland, have higher limits (up to ten per transaction in some cases).
Standard buckets are refillable indefinitely on return trips to the parks. Specialty premium buckets can also be refilled at the standard refill price, though refill programs tied to specific anniversary or festival buckets may have expiration dates. Always check the terms on any specialty bucket at the time of purchase.

How to Get Disney Popcorn Buckets on Mobile Order
Disney moved the most in-demand specialty bucket releases to a mobile order system in recent years to eliminate the hours-long lines that used to form at popcorn carts. The Figment Festival of the Arts bucket, the Talking Mickey bucket, and other high-demand releases have all gone through this system. Here is how it works.
Open the My Disney Experience app on the day of your visit. Tap the plus (+) icon and select “Order Food.” Look for the location listed as a “Souvenir Release” — it is usually labeled by park and listed separately from regular dining mobile order options. Select an available arrival window. When your window opens, tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order.” You will receive a notification when your order is ready, then head to the designated pickup window to collect your bucket.
A few things worth knowing before you go. Mobile order windows for popular releases open early and fill up fast, sometimes within the first hour the park is open. You are typically limited to two buckets per day per My Disney Experience account. Availability is always while supplies last. Not every release goes through mobile order — lower-demand items and standard refillable buckets are available directly at carts — but for anything announced as a limited release, plan on using the app.
The pickup location varies by park. At EPCOT, past festival releases have used the Odyssey building between Test Track and the Mexico Pavilion. At Hollywood Studios, the Souvenir Release mobile order location is across from the Milk Stand. Disney announces the specific pickup point when each release goes live.
Coming Soon: Seasonal and Limited Releases to Watch For
This section covers confirmed and expected upcoming releases. Items listed here are not yet available but have been officially announced or strongly indicated based on Disney’s seasonal patterns.
Bluey’s Wild World at Animal Kingdom — May 26. A Bluey experience is opening at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom on May 26, 2026 as part of Cool Kids’ Summer. Given the Disneyland debut merchandise on March 22, it is reasonable to expect Walt Disney World to receive its own Bluey bucket and sipper around or before the Animal Kingdom opening. We will cover that launch the moment it is confirmed. Everything we know about Bluey’s Wild World is here.

Disney Cruise Line Popcorn Buckets
Disney Cruise Line carries its own lineup of refillable popcorn buckets and novelty sippers, separate from the parks. The current DCL bucket features a porthole-style design showcasing ships from the Disney fleet, and has recently been updated to include the Disney Adventure and Disney Destiny alongside existing ships. Buckets are available at popcorn locations aboard all active Disney Cruise Line ships.
DCL buckets follow the same refillable model as the parks. Seasonal and character-themed sippers also rotate in for specific sailings, including Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime Cruises.
Retired Disney Popcorn Buckets — Recent Fan Favorites
These buckets have rotated out of the parks but are worth knowing about for collectors, resellers, and guests trying to track down a specific design. Many of these remain available on eBay and Facebook Marketplace at varying prices after selling out in the parks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Disney Popcorn Buckets
Are Disney popcorn buckets refillable?
Yes. The standard Disney refillable popcorn bucket can be refilled at any participating popcorn cart throughout Walt Disney World or Disneyland for $2.75 per refill at Walt Disney World, valid for your entire length of stay. Premium specialty buckets purchased at full price can also be refilled at the standard refill rate. Some anniversary and festival bucket refill programs have specific date windows, so check the terms on those at purchase.
How much does a Disney popcorn bucket cost?
The standard refillable bucket at Walt Disney World costs $14.29 and comes with popcorn included. Premium and specialty buckets range from about $22 to $50 or more, depending on the design. Disneyland pricing is similar but varies slightly by item.
Can I bring a Disney popcorn bucket back to the park on a future trip for refills?
Yes. Standard refillable popcorn buckets can be brought back to Disney parks on future trips and refilled at the standard refill price. There is no expiration on the bucket itself. This makes them one of the better long-term value souvenirs if you visit the parks regularly.
Where can I buy Disney popcorn buckets?
Most standard and specialty buckets are available at popcorn carts and kiosks throughout the parks. Some limited releases are only available via mobile order through the My Disney Experience app. A small number of items are available at Disney Springs or on shopDisney.com after the parks sell through their initial stock.
How do I use mobile order to get a limited-release Disney popcorn bucket?
Open the My Disney Experience app on the day of your park visit. Tap the plus icon, select Order Food, and look for the Souvenir Release location for your park. Select an arrival window, then tap “I’m Here, Prepare My Order” when your window opens. Collect at the designated pickup window. Windows for popular releases fill up early, so check the app as soon as you enter the park.
Are Disney popcorn buckets available at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland?
Yes, though the lineups are often different. Some buckets are released at both resorts simultaneously, while others are California-exclusive or Florida-exclusive, at least initially. Seasonal patterns often mean a Disneyland release shows up at Walt Disney World a few weeks later. Fantasy Land News covers both coasts so you always know what is available where.
What is the most popular Disney popcorn bucket right now?
As of March 2026, the Jerrod Maruyama Kawaii Popcorn Bucket is the most widely available at Walt Disney World, and the new Bluey popcorn bucket and sipper arriving at Disneyland on March 22 are the most anticipated current releases. The Monsters, Inc. Scream Canister at Hollywood Studios is generating the most collector interest among current premium items.
Do Disney popcorn buckets ever go on sale or have discounts?
Standard and specialty buckets are not typically discounted in the parks. Annual Pass and Magic Key holder pricing occasionally applies to specific anniversary or celebration buckets, as was the case with the Disneyland 70th and DCA 25th Magic Key exclusives. Disney dining plans can sometimes be used for the standard refillable bucket snack credit, but premium specialty buckets are almost always priced separately from any plan or discount program.
