Fall Out Boy’s “It Feels Like Christmas” Muppets Cover Now Streaming on All Platforms

Fall Out Boy’s rock cover of “It Feels Like Christmas” from The Muppet Christmas Carol is now streaming on every major music service. The wide release landed October 6, 2026, the same day Disney revealed the holiday set list for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A Muppets Christmas song with Kermit the Frog on vocals did not make that list, and we have some thoughts.

Fall Out Boy first released the cover one year ago today, on October 15, 2025, as part of Spotify’s Holiday Singles series. It came out two days before the 20th Anniversary Edition of From Under the Cork Tree, the band’s 2005 breakthrough album. For a full year, Spotify was the only place to hear it. That changed on October 6, when the single arrived on Apple Music, Amazon Music and the other major platforms as a Fall Out Boy release. It runs about two minutes, and Kermit the Frog joins the band on vocals.

Paul Williams wrote “It Feels Like Christmas” for the 1992 film, where the Ghost of Christmas Present sings it. Fall Out Boy turns it into a high-energy rock track. When the cover first dropped, the band said on social media that the movie is “possibly the greatest adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic story.”

The cover found an audience even as a Spotify exclusive. It reached No. 60 on the UK Official Singles Chart and No. 31 in Ireland last holiday season. It is also far cheerier than the band’s first Christmas song. “Yule Shoot Your Eye Out,” from the 2009 greatest hits album Believers Never Die, tells someone not to bother coming home for the holidays.

Hollywood Studios Christmas 2026 Muppets Coaster Holiday Overlay and New Lilypad Songs

The Muppets Coaster Gets Its First Christmas Set List

From November 4, 2026 through January 6, 2027, the ride becomes Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay. Holiday music will play in the courtyard outside G-Force Records, and the preshow finds Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem rehearsing for a holiday concert while other Muppets try to help.

The ride itself gets four new tracks. The Electric Mayhem plays “Holiday Road” with Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” with Jennifer Hudson, “Silver Bells” with Cyndi Lauper, and “Little Saint Nick” on their own. Disney’s announcement also pictured Gonzo and Rizzo, the two narrators of The Muppet Christmas Carol.

This is the first holiday season for the new version of the ride, which opened May 26 after more than 25 years starring Aerosmith. The Muppets moved to Sunset Boulevard after Muppet*Vision 3D closed in June 2025 to make room for Monstropolis.

If Disney is building a holiday overlay with four new songs, and three of them bring in guest stars, Fall Out Boy’s “It Feels Like Christmas” belongs on that list. It is a Muppets Christmas song, recorded by a rock band, with Kermit already singing on it. It went wide the same day Disney announced the set list.

The ride starred a rock band for more than 25 years. Fall Out Boy has written for Disney, appeared at Radio Disney’s own awards show and asked out loud to play Walt Disney World. We heard the coaster’s regular soundtrack at the First Listen Experience and rode it at the media preview earlier this year, and a fast rock take on a Muppets Christmas song fits this ride perfectly.

The four songs Disney picked are fun, and landing Jennifer Hudson and Cyndi Lauper for a coaster soundtrack is a big get. We just think there is room for one more. If the Obligatory Holiday Overlay comes back next year, this is the first song we would add.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay begins November 4, 2026 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. See the full Hollywood Studios Christmas 2026 lineup and more of our music news.
