JIMMY Movie Free Tickets: Vet Tix Releases First $1 Million for Veterans and First Responders

Vet Tix has released the first $1 million in free tickets to JIMMY, the Jimmy Stewart movie opening in theaters November 6, 2026. The tickets are for service members, veterans, first responders and their families. We covered the film and its ticket campaign when JIMMY was announced for theaters in March. The Veteran Tickets Foundation, known as Vet Tix, announced the release on October 9. The tickets come from the JIMMY Give Back campaign, which is funded by corporate donors and public donations. Vet Tix says it will keep taking donations through the end of October and expects a second release of tickets in November.

The campaign set a goal of one million donated tickets when it launched earlier this year. Today’s figure is counted in dollars, and Vet Tix did not say how many tickets $1 million covers. Eligible members request the tickets through Vet Tix, which verifies military service when you sign up. Its program for first responders is 1st Tix. One thing the announcement leaves out is cost. Both sites say members pay a small delivery fee to receive tickets, so check the total before you claim.

Vet Tix names California Commerce Club, Citizen Watch America, Eight & Bob, Hanks for Our Troops, The Jimmy Stewart Museum, Justin Boots, Marcus & Mack, Montemoro, the National Football League, Papaian Studios and White Castle as donors.

“There is no doubt in my mind that nothing would have moved my father more, or made him prouder, than to know that veterans, first responders, and active military and their families could experience the film, JIMMY, through the generosity of others,” said Kelly Stewart Harcourt, Stewart’s daughter and the film’s executive producer.

JIMMY stars KJ Apa as Stewart, who set aside his Hollywood career and flew 20 combat missions over Europe with the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II. He kept serving after the war and rose to brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. The film opens five days before Veterans Day. Vet Tix founder and CEO Michael A. Focareto III, a U.S. Navy veteran, said families can “experience his epic story in JIMMY together this Veterans Day season.”

Fathom Entertainment is releasing the film. Its chief executive Jason Brenek, a former Disney executive who took the job in July, said JIMMY “will cast a spotlight on the legacy and heroism of Jimmy Stewart, and his love of our country.” Regular tickets are on sale now on Fathom Entertainment’s JIMMY page and at participating theater box offices. Anyone who wants to fund tickets can donate to the JIMMY campaign through Vet Tix or email Joe Hickey at JHickey@vettix.org.
