Monsters Inc. 25th Anniversary Pins and Muppets 50th Mystery Pins Debut on D23’s Online Shop

D23’s online shop adds three new collector pin releases today, September 15, at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT), and the one most likely to sell out first is a Muppet Show 50th Anniversary Mystery Pin Collection. The blind box set includes nine confirmed pins: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Rowlf, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Sam Eagle, Scooter, Statler, and Waldorf pins, plus a tenth chaser pin that stays a mystery until you open the box. It’s another entry in what’s shaping up to be a huge year for the franchise, from the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Hollywood Studios to the special’s six Emmy nominations earlier this year.

Also going live today is a new Monsters, Inc. 25th Anniversary pin series built around the scare floor’s door monitoring station. Four pins in the set pair up characters from the film in a pewter-style relief design stamped with a bold “25th”: George and Bile, Sulley and Boo, Mike and Celia, and Randall and Fungus, each showing the pair mid-scene through the door’s window while a CDA-style agent works the console below. The timing lines up with Disney’s broader push behind the franchise, including the Monstropolis land taking shape at Hollywood Studios, where we’ve been tracking construction since Harryhausen’s Sushi was confirmed for the new area.

Rounding out today’s drop is a single pin celebrating the 65th anniversary of Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, the anthology series that first aired in 1961. The design puts Donald Duck in sorcerer mode, splashing a rainbow of paint across a purple Cinderella Castle silhouette, with Tinker Bell trailing pixie dust overhead and a “65th” medallion at the top of the pin.

All three land on d23.com/shop at the same time this morning, and past D23 collectible drops have sold out within minutes of going live, especially mystery pin sets where the chaser drives repeat purchases. If the Muppets set follows that pattern, expect it to be the first of the three to disappear. For a sense of how fast these can move, our full day-by-day breakdown of the Mickey’s of Glendale Pin Store lineup from D23 2026 tracked several sets that sold out within the hour.

Our take: a blind box format is fun right up until you’ve bought three sets chasing one chaser pin. If you’re going after the full Muppets lineup, decide ahead of time how many boxes you’re willing to open, because there’s no guarantee doubles won’t show up before you land Statler and Waldorf. The Monsters, Inc. and World of Color pins are more straightforward buys since what you see is what you get, so if your budget is tight this morning, those two are the safer picks.
