LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian is now streaming on Disney+, delivering on the September 2 release date Lucasfilm confirmed back when the special first got its D23 2026 debut. We first covered this one when D23 2026 attendees got an early screening at the Anaheim Convention Center as part of the Lucasfilm pavilion’s programming, and a sneak peek also turned up during Shelby Young’s LEGO Star Wars panel that same weekend.
The special reworks stories and characters from all three seasons of The Mandalorian into LEGO’s animated style, including Din Djarin and Grogu’s very first meeting rebuilt entirely in brick form. Lucasfilm and The LEGO Group are billing it as action-packed with plenty of unexpected laughs mixed in, continuing the same formula that’s carried LEGO Star Wars specials for years, familiar enough for longtime fans to catch every reference, silly enough for younger viewers to enjoy without any of the context.
Disney+ used the release to spotlight its full LEGO Star Wars library alongside it, and there’s more there than casual fans probably realize. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy and its sequel, Pieces of the Past, send an ordinary nerf-herder through a mixed-up version of the galaxy where familiar heroes and villains swap roles entirely. Droid Tales retells the original trilogy’s events from C-3PO’s perspective. The Freemaker Adventures Shorts and Resistance Rises Shorts fill in smaller corners of the timeline, and a run of holiday specials, including a Life Day-themed Holiday Special, Summer Vacation, and the Halloween-leaning Terrifying Tales, gives the format a seasonal life of its own outside any single release window.
