AMC Theatres is marking Star Trek’s 60th anniversary with a new concession collectible lineup arriving September 4, headlined by a Starship Enterprise popcorn bucket built around the original NCC-1701 U.S.S. Enterprise. This ship first appeared on the big screen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture and was from the original TV show.
The bucket includes popcorn and sits on a light-up base shaped like the Starfleet delta insignia inside a large 60, with the Enterprise mounted above it on display arms. A second piece rounds out the set: a fountain drink cup topped with one of four mystery Enterprise toppers, each a smaller version of the ship on its own display stand.
The Starship Enterprise Popcorn Collectible comes with popcorn included, and the ship itself carries the NCC-1701 registry markings on the saucer section, a detail fans of the original series and films will recognize immediately. The companion piece is a cup with one of four mystery toppers based on the SS Enterprise ships from the movies, and it includes a fountain drink.
Both pieces go on sale September 4 at AMC locations while supplies last. As with most AMC concession exclusives, expect them to sell out at popular theaters quickly once word spreads. AMC has not published pricing for either the popcorn bucket or the mystery topper cup as of this writing. We’ll update this article with exact pricing as soon as it’s confirmed. The promotional materials note that gourmet popcorn is excluded from the bucket price and that AMC Stubs upgrades do not apply to this release, and that additional fees apply to online orders. Our thoughts are that the bucket will be $40, and the toppers around $15.
