Sofia the First is back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Fantasy Land News was first in line to meet her this morning — just three days before “Sofia the First: Royal Magic” premieres on Disney Jr. on May 25.

Sofia began meeting guests today, May 22, 2026, at a brand-new location on Commissary Lane, next to the entrance for Red Carpet Dreams where Mickey and Minnie hold their meet and greet, directly across from ABC Commissary and Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. The space has been transformed with a colorful, bubbly mural, with the largest bubble divided into three sections featuring the “Sofia the First: Royal Magic,” Disney Jr. Let’s Play!, and SuperKitties branding. A second bubble reads “Disney Jr.,” “Disney+,” and “Now Available.”
Sofia is wearing her new royal dress from “Sofia the First: Royal Magic,” and it is a noticeable upgrade from her classic look. Her first meeting time today was 10:00 a.m., and she appeared on time. Her schedule is now listed in the My Disney Experience app, so you can check times before heading over — and arriving a few minutes early is still a good idea to secure your spot in line.”

Joining Sofia at the same location is Bitsy from Disney Jr.’s SuperKitties, making her Hollywood Studios meet and greet debut today as well. Bitsy’s first meeting was at 10:30 a.m., and she meets on the half hour, trading the spot with Sofia throughout the day. PhotoPass photographers were not present during our visit this morning.

The timing is no coincidence. “Sofia the First: Royal Magic” premieres this Sunday, on Disney Jr. at 7:00 a.m. EDT, with the first eight episodes hitting Disney+ on Tuesday, May 26. The new series picks up with Sofia enrolling at The Charmswell School for Royal Magic, where she discovers she is the most magical princess in the realm. The latest trailer confirmed Rapunzel as one of the princess guest stars, with Moana, Jasmine, Cinderella, Aurora, and Elena of Avalor also set to appear across the season.
Our Take: Being first in line this morning made it clear that families have been waiting for this. Sofia has a real history at Hollywood Studios, and bringing her back in the new dress tied to a premiere-week rollout is exactly the kind of park moment that rewards guests who pay attention. The swap schedule with Bitsy keeps the meet location active throughout the day, which is smart programming for the Disney Jr. crowd. If you are visiting this weekend, getting there at rope drop gives you the best shot at both characters before the lines build.
