Why This WrestleMania Matters
WrestleMania 42 is the first event under the new ESPN and WWE rights agreement that makes ESPN the exclusive U.S. domestic home of all WWE premium live events going forward. The two main events at the top of each night have been building for months. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton is a championship match with real stakes and a compelling corner man story with Pat McAfee involved. CM Punk versus Roman Reigns is the kind of collision that defines a WrestleMania main event, putting two of the biggest personalities in wrestling history against each other in a bout fans have been waiting for.
The Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match on Night 2 is worth watching for the chaos alone. Six competitors including Penta, Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and Rusev in a ladder match is the kind of match that produces moments people talk about for years.
