Masters of the Universe fans have been waiting for something like this. Mattel has officially released the Masters of the Universe Chronicles Havoc Staff, a life-size collectible role-play item inspired by the upcoming live-action film arriving in theaters on June 5, 2026. Standing over five feet tall and loaded with lights, sounds, and real smoke effects, this is one of the most ambitious Masters of the Universe collectibles Mattel has ever produced, and it is available right now for pre-order.

FLN has been tracking the Masters of the Universe film rollout since the first trailer dropped in January, and the merchandise push is clearly accelerating as the June 5 release approaches. We also covered the Masters of the Universe Cinemark popcorn bucket arriving at theaters ahead of the film.

What Is the Masters of the Universe Chronicles Havoc Staff?

The Masters of the Universe Chronicles Havoc Staff is a movie-accurate, full-scale replica of Skeletor’s signature weapon as it appears in the 2026 film. The staff stands 68.25 inches tall (that is 173.36 cm) with a ram’s head and cervical spine at the top measuring 15.44 inches wide and 7.92 inches deep. It ships as five pieces that can be easily disassembled and reassembled for storage and transport.

The SRP is $189.99 and it is available for pre-order now at MattelCreations.com and Amazon.com.

Lights, Sounds, and Actual Smoke

This is not a prop piece that just sits on a shelf. The Havoc Staff runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery charged via USB-C and operates in two distinct modes. In Active Mode, a button triggers light effects and sound effects pulled directly from the film. Striking the bottom of the staff against the ground activates a separate set of lights and sounds. The staff also produces real smoke from a refillable fog fluid reservoir — smoke solution is included, and additional non-toxic water-based fog fluid can be purchased separately at hobby stores.

Sentry Mode is where things get genuinely interesting. Infrared sensors positioned beneath the ram’s eyes detect movement within six inches (15 cm) and automatically activate the staff’s lights, sounds, and smoke without any button press. Set it up on display and it will respond to anyone who gets close. That is a level of interactivity you do not usually see in a collectible at this price point.

Brook Lopez Brought It to the NBA Tunnel

To mark the launch, Mattel tapped LA Clippers center Brook Lopez — a well-known Masters of the Universe fan — to carry the full-size Havoc Staff into the tunnel ahead of the Clippers vs. Warriors game on Sunday night. Lopez is not the first athlete to lean into his fandom publicly, but walking into an NBA arena carrying a five-foot weapon that produces smoke and glows is a statement regardless of context. High-resolution images and video from the moment have been released by Mattel.

The stunt is a smart play. It connects the film’s marketing to a live, real-world moment with genuine fan energy behind it rather than a staged promotional event. Lopez’s enthusiasm for MOTU is the kind of authentic crossover that generates coverage well beyond the collectibles and film press.

The Havoc Staff sits at $189.99, which is a real number for a piece that is five-and-a-half feet tall, rechargeable, and has a motion-sensor sentry system built into it. If you are a MOTU collector or just want the most dramatic display piece in any room you own, this is the one Mattel built for you. The movie-accurate design means it will only get more interesting to own once the film is out and you can see the staff in action on screen.

Pre-orders are live now at MattelCreations.com and Amazon.com. Stay with Fantasy Land News for continuing coverage of Masters of the Universe collectibles and the film’s theatrical release. For more on what is heading to theaters this summer, visit our Masters of the Universe coverage hub.
