Disney Lorcana’s next trading card game set, Wilds Unknown, is officially coming on May 15, 2026, and for the first time ever, glimmers of Pixar’s Toy Story, Brave, and The Incredibles characters are joining the game. Ravensburger announced the twelfth set on April 14, 2026, confirming that Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Merida, and the Parr family will make their Disney Lorcana TCG debut in this expansion. If you have been following along with the game’s recent story arc, Wilds Unknown picks up directly after the thawing of the Winterspell, scattering glimmers across dangerous new territories with names like the Wilderknot, the Great Empty Sea, and Torchlight Peaks.

What Is Wilds Unknown?
Wilds Unknown is the twelfth set in the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game published by Ravensburger. The set’s story centers on characters being cast to far-off, uncharted areas of the Lorcana realm following the events of the previous expansion. Players will navigate those new locations while building decks around freshly introduced characters from three Pixar films that have never appeared in the game before: Toy Story, Brave, and The Incredibles.
Prereleases for Wilds Unknown begin on May 8, 2026, at local game stores and select Disney Parks and Disney stores. The set will be available everywhere starting May 15, 2026. Preorders are open now at online retailers.
New Pixar Characters and Iconic Cards
The biggest story with Wilds Unknown is the arrival of Pixar characters for the first time. Ravensburger confirmed it worked closely with product designers at Pixar Animation Studios to bring the characters to life within Lorcana’s world, incorporating narrative, design, and new original artwork for each card. A behind-the-scenes Making a Card documentary is available on YouTube that walks through part of the development process for Buzz Lightyear’s card, specifically.
As with previous sets, Wilds Unknown features the game’s rarest full-art cards in two tiers. The Enchanted cards in this set use an Art Nouveau-inspired art style Ravensburger is calling Lore Nouveau, designed to capture the feeling of venturing into unknown territory. The even rarer Iconic cards take that style further with additional foil treatments. The two Iconic cards confirmed for Wilds Unknown are Merida – Formidable Archer and Buzz Lightyear – Jungle Ranger.

What Comes With the Wilds Unknown Prerelease Box
Starting May 8, local game stores will carry an exclusive Wilds Unknown Prerelease Box. Each box contains six booster packs, one of six possible random promo cards, and additional goodies themed around the set’s story. Ravensburger is directing fans to sign up through the RPH to secure their spot at a prerelease event. These boxes will only be available at local game stores and will not be sold through mass retail channels.

What’s Coming After Wilds Unknown
Ravensburger also revealed the next several stops on the 2026 and early 2027 roadmap. The summer set is called Attack of the Vine! and features Monsters, Inc. characters, including Boo, Mike Wazowski, and Sulley, making their first Lorcana appearances. Attack of the Vine! prereleases at game stores on July 17, 2026, with wide release on July 24.
This fall, the story arc concludes with a cooperative product called Illumineer’s Quest: The Great Hunny Rescue. Like previous Illumineer’s Quest releases, this is an all-in-one package with curated decks designed to work together against a villain threat, this time the vine from Attack of the Vine!. It features four difficulty levels for replayability and releases in October 2026 with an MSRP of $59.99. More details will be shared at Gen Con 2026.
The Q4 2026 set heads to a fantastical metropolis called Hyperia City and features characters from Pixar’s Coco. And in early 2027, Ravensburger teased a quest-themed set with the phrase “quests of yore are in store for more lore.”

Our Take on Wilds Unknown
This is the announcement Lorcana fans have been waiting for. Getting Pixar’s Toy Story into the game feels overdue, and the fact that Ravensburger worked directly with Pixar Animation Studios on the designs rather than just licensing existing art matters. These cards were actually built with the IP team involved, and that usually shows in the final product. The Lore Nouveau art direction sounds genuinely interesting, too.
Art Nouveau and Disney have a natural visual chemistry, and if Ravensburger executes it well, the Enchanted and Iconic cards from this set could be among the best-looking in the game’s history. Merida as a Formidable Archer Iconic makes complete sense, and Buzz in a Jungle Ranger configuration is a fun, creative choice that fits the set’s theme. We are paying close attention to how the Pixar characters get balanced into existing deck strategies, and we will have more coverage as card previews roll out. For now, May 15 is circled on the calendar.
