Shao Kahn Container, Arcade Bucket, Dragon Cup: The Complete Mortal Kombat II Collectible Guide

April 9, 2026

Written by Greg Gately

The Mortal Kombat II popcorn buckets are official at four major chains. Regal Cinemas, AMC Theatres, Cinemark, and Marcus Theatres have all confirmed their collectibles for the May 8, 2026, release, with lineups ranging from the Regal-exclusive Shao Kahn Collectible Container and Dragon Light Up Cup to the Cinemark Slate Popcorn Bucket, the AMC Arcade Cabinet Bucket, and a multi-item Marcus Theatres lineup featuring two buckets and the Shao Kahn tin. We are tracking every chain on our Movie Theater Popcorn Buckets hub as announcements continue to roll in.

We got our first look at the Mortal Kombat II collectibles earlier today when producer Todd Garner shared an early preview. Now the official chain announcements are rolling in. Here is everything confirmed so far, chain by chain. This article will be updated throughout the day as AMC, Cinemark, and others make their official announcements. Read our original first-look article here.

Regal Cinemas: Three Exclusive Items Confirmed

Regal is coming in strong with three confirmed collectibles, all listed as Regal exclusives available at participating locations while supplies last.

The flagship item is the Shao Kahn Collectible Container, which comes with a free large popcorn included. This is the Shao Kahn helmet tin we previewed earlier today, with the sculpted metallic mask opening up as the lid to reveal the popcorn inside. Regal is positioning this as their centerpiece exclusive for the film, and it earns that spot. The helmet detail on this piece is exceptional for a theater collectible.

The second item is the Collectible Double Combo, filled with popcorn and soda. This set includes two vessels: a square black popcorn bucket with the Mortal Kombat dragon logo in green and character art on the sides, and a character cup. Both come with character toppers sitting on the lid. The two confirmed characters visible on the packaging are Kitana and Johnny Cage, fitting given that both are central to the film’s story.

The third item is the Dragon Light Up Cup, filled with the drink of your choice. The cup is green with a sculpted dragon emblem wrapping around the exterior and a textured base. This is the most accessible price point in the Regal lineup and the one most likely to move fast given how well Regal’s light-up cup format has performed on past releases.

AMC Theatres: Arcade Cabinet Bucket Confirmed

AMC is confirmed to be carrying the Mortal Kombat II Arcade Cabinet Popcorn Bucket, the black and green bucket styled after the original MK2 arcade machine with working button panel graphics on the front. Full pricing and combo details from AMC are expected to be announced officially today. We will update this section as that information becomes available.

Cinemark: Four Items Including a Clapperboard Bucket

Cinemark has confirmed a four-item lineup built around a film clapperboard theme that leans into the Johnny Cage moviestar angle of the sequel. The centerpiece is the Slate Popcorn Bucket, designed to look like a director’s clapperboard in black with Mortal Kombat II branding and Johnny Cage’s signature scrawled across the front. It comes with XL popcorn on the side and includes a free same-day refill. Cinemark is also offering a Slate Popcorn Bucket plus 44oz Souvenir Cup Combo, which bundles both pieces together with XL popcorn on the side and a free same-day refill on both. The 44oz Souvenir Cup is available on its own as well, featuring character art wrapping around the exterior with a free same-day refill included. Rounding out the lineup is a 20oz Tumbler in green with the Mortal Kombat dragon logo and a gold lid, also with a free same-day refill. Every item in the Cinemark lineup includes that refill perk, which is a strong value play on top of the collectible design.

Marcus Theatres: Three Collectibles, Including Two Buckets and the Shao Kahn Tin

Marcus Theatres has confirmed three items under their Killer Collectibles banner, with a coming soon status at the time of this article. The lineup includes a green Shao Kahn silhouette bucket with the villain’s iconic helmet design cut out of the green exterior, the black and green Arcade Cabinet Popcorn Bucket that mirrors the original MK2 arcade machine, and the Shao Kahn helmet tin, which comes with a black Mortal Kombat II tub inside the helmet rather than using the tin itself as the popcorn vessel. That tub-inside detail is a notable difference from how the Regal version of the Shao Kahn container is configured, so if you are collecting across chains, the Marcus version is a distinct piece worth noting.

What This Lineup Gets Right

Regal has put together one of the more complete single-chain lineups we have seen for a non-Disney release. Three items at three different price points, with clear identity tied to specific characters, is exactly how you build a collectibles program that serves both the casual moviegoer and the dedicated collector. The Shao Kahn Container is going to be the one people are hunting for. The Double Combo is clever because it solves the practical problem of needing both a bucket and a drink while making both collectible. The Dragon Light Up Cup is the impulse buy that anyone walking up to the concession stand might grab on the spot. This is a well-constructed lineup.

Mortal Kombat II opens May 8, 2026. Tickets are on sale now. We will continue updating this article as every chain confirms its items.
