Walt Disney World Resort is now selling specially priced After 2 PM tickets for Early Summer 2026, giving guests access to one theme park per day starting in the afternoon for less than the cost of a standard day ticket. The offer covers start dates from May 26 through July 29, 2026, and is available in both 2-day and 3-day options.
Note: This is a real Disney World offer. not an April Fools’ Day joke. The deal is live on Disney’s official website as of today. Check out our Travel partners at MEI-Travel Mousefan Travel for more information!
What the After 2 PM Ticket Gets You
The ticket grants admission to one Walt Disney World theme park per day, but only after 2:00 PM. Theme park reservations are not required, which is a meaningful perk given how often the reservation system has created friction for guests in recent years. You pick your start date at purchase, and the ticket is date-based from there.
The 2-day version must be used within 4 days of the selected start date. The 3-day version must be used within 5 days. Guests are limited to one park per day, and the ticket does not cover separately priced events or activities not open to the general public. All tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable.
Why This Summer in Particular Is Worth Showing Up For
Disney is framing this as an afternoon-and-evening experience, and the timing makes more sense than it might seem at first. The ticket window runs concurrently with Cool Kids’ Summer 2026, Walt Disney World’s branded summer season running May 26 through September 8, 2026, which brings Bluey’s Wild World at Animal Kingdom, the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! stage show at Hollywood Studios, GoofyCore at EPCOT, Jessie’s Roundup at Magic Kingdom’s Diamond Horseshoe, and resort hotel perks including free water park admission on check-in day. Several major attraction updates also arrive during this window. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad returns to Magic Kingdom in early May, refreshed after its lengthy refurbishment. Soarin’ Across America lands at EPCOT on May 26, the same day the Cool Kids’ Summer season opens. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Hollywood Studios begins offering a new mission featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is also expected at Hollywood Studios this summer.
Those are four significant attraction changes arriving right as the ticket window opens, alongside an entirely new roster of family experiences across all four parks — which makes the timing feel deliberately coordinated rather than incidental.
The Honest Case for Afternoons in the Parks
Here is the version of this that Disney will not spell out directly: afternoon entry works well for guests who do not need or want a full-day experience and are comfortable trading the morning rush for a lower price. Summer afternoons in Florida are hot, but they cool considerably by early evening. The parks typically stay open late in summer, and evening is genuinely the best time to ride TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom with its canopy lit up, or to catch Happily Ever After presented by Pandora Jewelry or the nighttime parade Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away.
For families staying on Disney property who have access to a resort pool in the morning, or for local annual passholders looking for a discounted way to catch specific shows and new attractions, this structure makes a lot of sense. For guests who want to maximize every hour of a long travel day, it is probably the wrong ticket.
Pricing: What the After 2 PM Ticket Costs
Pricing starts at $118 for the 2-day ticket and $116 for the 3-day ticket — yes, the 3-day option is actually cheaper at the low end, which makes it the better value for most guests with flexibility in their schedule. The most expensive dates we found topped out at $155, so pricing does vary across the May 26 through July 29 window depending on which start date you select.
For comparison, Disney’s 4-Day, 4-Park Magic Ticket — the other discounted Cool Kids’ Summer offer — starts at $109 per day ($436 total) and covers all four parks with one park per day, valid through October 3, 2026. That ticket has no afternoon restriction but requires use within seven days. If you have four full days, it is the better value. If you have a shorter trip or just want afternoons and evenings, the After 2 PM ticket’s lower entry price makes more sense. Tickets are available now through Walt Disney World’s official website. As with all Disney date-based tickets, prices will fluctuate based on demand and date, so locking in earlier is generally the safer move if your travel plans are set.
