How to Buy D23 2026 Tickets: A First-Timer’s Complete Guide

D23 2026 tickets go on sale April 2, 2026, exclusively for D23 Gold Members, with the main event running August 14 through 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center in Anaheim, California. If you have never been to a D23 event before, the ticket process is unlike anything you have experienced at a theme park — there is a virtual queue, multiple ticket types covering two separate venues, and a membership requirement that must be in place before the sale even begins. This guide explains every step in plain language so you know exactly what to do and what to expect before the sale opens.

How to Buy D23 2026 Tickets A First Timer's Complete Guide

Step 1: You Must Be a D23 Gold Member Before You Can Buy Anything

This is the most important thing to understand up front: you cannot buy D23 2026 tickets without an active D23 Gold Membership. A free or general D23 membership does not qualify. You need a paid Gold Membership, which is Disney’s official fan club for the event.

Gold Membership plans come in three tiers: Essential, Choice, and Complete. All three give you access to the ticket sale. There is also a Complimentary Gold plan that some Disney+ subscribers receive as a perk, which does grant access but at a later time window (more on that below). If you are not already a Gold Member, go to d23.com/join and sign up before the sale. The membership must be active and linked to the same Disney account you will use to purchase tickets.

New to D23 accounts? If you have never purchased tickets through D23 before, you will be asked to verify your email address when you first log in during the sale. Check your inbox for a message with the subject line “Confirm account connection” and click the link inside before you try to check out. If you miss this step, you could run out of time. Check your spam folder too.

Step 2: Know Your Ticket Sale Time Window

Not all Gold Members get access at the same time. D23 uses a tiered priority system based on membership type and seniority. Here is exactly when each group can get in.

Charter Members only — March 31, 2026 at 10 a.m. PT. Charter status means you have held a paid D23 Gold Membership continuously since before December 31, 2009. This is a very small group of longtime Disney fans.

Gold Members on Essential, Choice, or Complete plans — April 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT. This is the primary sale window and where the vast majority of fans will be purchasing.

Gold Members on the Complimentary plan through Disney+ Perks — April 2, 2026, at 12 p.m. PT. This is the same day but two hours later than the main sale. Supply will be more limited by this point, so if you are on this plan and want to attend, plan accordingly.

The countdown page on D23’s website opens 24 hours before your specific sale window. You do not need to be there the moment it opens — arriving early does not improve your position. When the sale begins, everyone is randomly assigned a spot in the virtual queue.

Step 3: How the Virtual Queue Works

D23 uses a virtual queue system to manage the high demand for tickets. When the sale opens, the page automatically refreshes and assigns you a random position in line. Being logged in earlier does not give you a better spot. The queue is randomized at the moment the sale begins.

  • Once again, when the sale opens, it doesn’t matter how long you were in the queue; you will be reassigned a RANDOM place in line!

Once you are in the queue, keep that browser window open on that device and do not open the queue in another browser or on another device. Doing so can cause you to lose your place in line. Wait times can exceed one hour depending on demand, so plan to be available and patient.

When it is your turn, you will have exactly 10 minutes to select your tickets and complete checkout. If you need more time, you can click “Clear Your Cart” to reset the timer, but that also clears everything you had selected. Have your payment information ready before you reach the front of the queue.

Step 4: Understanding the Ticket Types

This is where D23 gets confusing for first-timers. The event takes place across two separate venues: the Anaheim Convention Center, where the show floor, experiences, shopping, and panels are held, and the Honda Center arena, where the big evening presentations take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Some tickets include both venues, and some include only the Convention Center. Here is what each ticket gets you.

3-Day D23 Ultimate Preferred Fan Pass

The top tier. Includes a reserved floor seat at the Honda Center for all three evening presentations (same seat each day) plus 3-day access to the Anaheim Convention Center. Also includes special RSP (Random Selection Process) access to select limited-edition pins exclusive to the event. This is the most complete experience available.

3-Day D23 Ultimate Fan Pass

Includes a reserved seat at the Honda Center for all three evening presentations plus 3-day access to the Anaheim Convention Center. The difference from the Preferred pass is the seating location at the Honda Center and no RSP pin access.

1-Day D23 Ultimate Fan Pass (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)

A single-day version of the above. Includes one reserved seat at the Honda Center evening presentation for your chosen day, plus full access to the Anaheim Convention Center on that same day. Good option if you can only attend one day but want the full experience, including the stage show.

3-Day D23 Fan Pass

Anaheim Convention Center is only for all three days. No Honda Center access. You will still experience the full show floor, shopping, and panel reservation system, but you will not attend the big evening presentations at the arena. A solid option for fans focused on the floor experience.

1-Day D23 Fan Pass (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)

Anaheim Convention Center only for one day of your choosing. Same access as the 3-Day Fan Pass but for a single day. No Honda Center.

Afternoon Only Fan Pass (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)

Anaheim Convention Center access starting at 4 p.m. on your chosen day. This is the lowest-cost entry point for the event, but it comes with a key limitation: Afternoon Only ticket holders cannot participate in the RSP (Random Selection Process) for panel and experience reservations at the Convention Center. If getting into specific panels is a priority, this ticket type is not ideal.

Each ticket carries an $11.25 service fee, and each transaction (regardless of how many tickets you buy in one order) carries a $16.00 delivery fee. Factor that into your budget when comparing options.

There Is More Than Just the Main Event

D23 2026 is not just three days. Disney has built out a full week of events in the Anaheim area surrounding the main convention, and many of them are available to Gold Members separately. The week-long calendar includes a Walt Disney Archives exhibit opening at Muzeo on August 8, D23 Night at the Anaheim Packing House on August 11, D23 Night at Angel Stadium on August 12, and D23 Day at the Disneyland Resort on August 13. Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a D23 membership to buy tickets?

Yes, a paid D23 Gold Membership is required. Free or general D23 accounts are not eligible to purchase tickets to the main event. You can sign up for a Gold Membership at d23.com/join before the sale begins on April 2.

What happens if I get to the ticket sale page early — does that help?

No. Being on the countdown page earlier does not give you a better spot in the queue. When the sale opens, every eligible Gold Member is randomly assigned a position. The system is designed so that no one benefits from camping the page.

What is the difference between the Honda Center tickets and the Convention Center-only tickets?

The Anaheim Convention Center is the main show floor where panels, experiences, and shopping take place across all three days. The Honda Center is a separate arena venue where Disney holds large-scale evening presentations with major announcements on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Tickets that include the Honda Center give you a reserved seat for those shows. Fan Pass tickets do not include Honda Center access.

How long do I have to buy my tickets once I reach the front of the queue?

You have 10 minutes to complete your purchase once it is your turn. Have your ticket choice in mind and your payment information ready before you get to the front. You can reset the timer by clearing your cart, but that also removes everything you selected and starts over.

Can I attend D23 2026 without a ticket to the main event?

Some of the week-long surrounding events, such as D23 Night at the Anaheim Packing House and D23 Night at Angel Stadium, have their own separate ticket processes and may be available to Gold Members without requiring a main event pass. Check each event’s individual listing at d23.com for specific requirements. The main event at the Anaheim Convention Center and Honda Center from August 14 through 16 requires a ticket.

What is RSP, and do all tickets include it?

RSP stands for Random Selection Process, which is the system D23 uses to distribute access to the most in-demand panels and experiences at the Convention Center. Fans submit their interest in specific events and are randomly selected for entry rather than waiting in open lines. Most ticket types participate in RSP. The one exception is the Afternoon Only Fan Pass, which does not include RSP access for Convention Center panels and experiences.
