Romance at Hope Ranch is the story of Hope Morgan, who sets out to begin a new chapter of her life—fulfilling her childhood dream of running a ranch in the picturesque town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and reviving the beloved Giddy Up Gala.
Alison Sweeney stars as Hope, which is a nod to her own mother, who is named Hope. Her 17-year-old daughter, Megan, is playing her daughter, Maggie, in the movie. This is the first time Megan has been in a movie.
The movie also stars Gabriel Hogan as Jack. Jack is Hope’s ex. Fans know Gabriel Hogan from the Alison Sweeney-led Hannah Swenson mystery series in which he plays Norman.
In an interview with Entertainment Now, Alison credits Jonathan Bennett for this project becoming what it is. She guest-starred in Season 2 of ‘Finding Mr. Christmas.’ In that episode, Alison had to act in a scene with the contestants one by one on horseback. She said that when Bennett found out she’d never filmed a movie with horses, he couldn’t believe it and insisted she pursue it. Being a lifelong horse lover and dedicated equestrian, Alison also says that she needed to learn this way of riding like a cowgirl instead of an equestrian.
Look for Alison to kick off the new March movies on Hallmark Channel with the brand new, ‘Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swenson Mystery’ premiering next Saturday, March 7th.
