Josh D’Amaro “You Just Became CEO of Disney, What are you Gonna Do Next?” I’m Going to Disneyland. In a celebration and a passing of the torch, Bob Iger and the new Walt Disney Company CEO, Josh D’Amaro, went to Disneyland! In separate posts on Instagram today, the duo posted about their visit yesterday to Walt Disney’s original theme park. The same theme park that Josh D’Amaro was president of in 2018-2019.
Josh D’Amaro posted: “It felt so good being back where it all started. Had a fantastic morning yesterday walking the park with @robertiger and chatting with our guests and cast.”
While Mr. Iger, the outgoing Walt Disney Company CEO posted: “A morning at @disneyland with @joshdamaro, the new CEO of The Walt Disney Company. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Josh’s appointment!”
The pair took time to walk through Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, the land Josh D’Amaro was successful in opening when he was President of the Park. They also took time to speak with various Cast Members from Transportation to Culinary.
This celebratory visit follows the official announcement on February 3, 2026, that D’Amaro will succeed Bob Iger as Chief Executive Officer. While the torch is being passed now, the official transition will take place on March 18, 2026, during the company’s Annual Meeting. To ensure a seamless handover, Iger will remain with the company as a Senior Advisor until the end of the year. For Disney fans and Cast Members alike, seeing the two leaders walking the park together offers a reassuring glimpse into the company’s future—one led by a veteran who, quite literally, knows every corner of the ‘Happiest Place on Earth.
