Last week, Elizabeth started school with the Hope Valley kids and the evacuees from Benson Hills. Things didn’t go as well as she hoped. Gwen is staying with the Coulters. She is not so easy with Rosemary, but comes to life with Goldie and Lee. Lee wants MacGinty investigated over the fire. He gets into it with MacGinty in the Queen of Hearts Saloon and ends up spending a little time in the cells for it. Lucas tries to help Edie but gets sidelined by his gubernatorial duties. Toby and Cooper were noticeably upset, and they finally confided to Elizabeth that they may have started the fire.
This week, Allie plans a surprise birthday party for Oliver with hopes of uniting the residents of Hope Valley and the recently arrived evacuees from Benson Hills. Joseph and Minnie show unconditional support for Cooper. Elizabeth encourages the evacuees to avoid seeking blame for the wildfire. Nathan and Bill explore MacGinty’s involvement in the ongoing investigation, and Lee starts a new business venture.
