New Trailer and How to Watch The Muppet Show 2026 Special on Disney+ and ABC. Disney+ just released the official trailer for The Muppet Show, a new 2026 special event starring Sabrina Carpenter, Maya Rudolph, and Seth Rogen. Fans can watch the premiere on Disney Plus and ABC this February, featuring a modern take on the classic variety show format created by Jim Henson. This 50th-anniversary celebration brings Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy back to the original Muppet Theatre for a night of music and comedy.
You can catch the special on February 4. It’s airing in two places: Disney+ – Starts streaming at 12:00 a.m. PST / 3:00 a.m. EST. ABC – Airs on network TV at 9:00 p.m. EST/PST.
The guest list is pretty solid for this one. Sabrina Carpenter is the main headliner, but they just confirmed Maya Rudolph is joining too. Seth Rogen is also guest-starring and helping run things behind the scenes as an executive producer.
Director Alex Timbers (who worked on Hamilton and Beetlejuice on Broadway) is in charge of the production, so expect it to look and feel like a big stage show.
It’s a classic Muppets setup. They’re back at the old Muppet Theatre doing sketches and musical numbers. Along with the special, a new version of “The Muppet Show Theme” produced by Bill Sherman will drop on music platforms on February 4.
Check out more The Muppets coverage, including the 70th Anniversary Muppet Magnet collection that was recently released.
