Want to be in a Hallmark Movie? A Biltmore Christmas is Casting Extras for New Sequel. Hallmark is headed back to Asheville this January. After the massive success of A Biltmore Christmas, the network just announced a sequel is officially in the works for the 2026 holiday season. Here is your chance to be part of a Hallmark Christmas movie. Hallmark is looking for extras to appear in A Biltmore Christmas new movie!
The new movie features some familiar faces and a time-traveling twist that jumps between 1895 and the modern day. If you’ve ever wanted to be in a Christmas movie, now is your chance.
Keep an eye out around Asheville starting in January. While much of the filming happens inside the Biltmore House, the crew will also be shooting at various landmarks in the city. The movie is set to premiere during the “Countdown to Christmas” event in late 2026.
The story starts in 1895 during the Biltmore’s very first Christmas Eve opening. A teenager named Elizabeth meets a mysterious boy named Michael, who suddenly vanishes. Flash forward 20 years: Elizabeth is an adult at a Biltmore gala when she finds Michael again. The catch? He’s actually a tourist from the present day who used a magical hourglass in the library to visit the past. Elizabeth ends up transported to the 21st century and has to decide which time period she actually belongs in.
Holland Roden and Niall Matter, along with Jonathan Frakes, who is back as Winston. Writer Marcy Holland and director Dustin Rikert are reuniting to capture that same magic from the first film.
How to Apply as an Extra
Hallmark is looking for locals of all ages to fill the background of scenes at the estate and around downtown Asheville (including Pack’s Tavern and the Fine Arts Theatre). Filming Dates: January 12 through February 2, 2026. Pay: $120 for an 8-hour day (overtime after that). Commitment: Expect long days, sometimes up to 12 hours.
