EPCOT’s Reimagined Test Track: Ride Music Grammy Nomination. Composer Zain Effendi has received a Grammy Award nomination for a track from the score of EPCOT’s reimagined Test Track attraction.
The nominated work is “Opening,” the first track from the EPCOT: Test Track (Original Soundtrack) album. It is a contender in the Best Instrumental Composition category for the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Reimagined Attraction: The Test Track ride, presented by General Motors, completed its third major reimagining and reopened at EPCOT in July 2025. The updated version, inspired by the park’s original World of Motion pavilion, features new scenes and effects showcasing the future of automotive technology.
Walt Disney Records made the announcement saying: “EPCOT: Test Track composer Zain Effendi has officially been nominated for Instrumental Composition for ‘Opening‘ from the soundtrack at the GRAMMY Awards!”
Effendi’s comprehensive, 70-minute original score for the attraction blends orchestral music with electronic production. The soundtrack was officially released by Walt Disney Records on August 8, 2025.
Composer’s Disney History: Effendi collaborated closely with Walt Disney Imagineering for nearly 15 months to develop the new music, which aims to capture the attraction’s core themes of progress and innovation. His previous work for Disney includes music for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the former Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience.
The Grammy nomination recognizes a single, original instrumental composition released during the eligibility period. The award ceremony will take place in early 2026.
