Chef Created Mickey Mouse Munchling Released This Morning at Disney Springs with Food Demonstration and Meet Greet

Chef Created Mickey Mouse Munchling Released This Morning at Disney Springs with Food Demonstration and Meet & Greet. Chef Christine Weissman, the first female Culinary Director of Walt Disney World, and Pastry Chef Amber Vega introduced us to the new Mickey Mouse Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl Plush by making the actual food bowl itself at Disney Springs Waterfront Stage this morning.

While showing us how the actual food of the Munchling is crafted, we got the back story of the creation of Disney’s newest Munchlings. Chef Weissman tells a great backstory of working at Disneyland Paris years ago when her daughter was 2 and being offered an executive chef job at Walt Disney World. They basically let their daughter decide, and to see if she would enjoy Florida and Walt Disney World they made a trip as a family and ate at Chef Mickey’s.

Apparently the 2-year-old fell in love with Mickey Mouse at Chef Mickey’s and the family ended up moving to Disney World, where Chef Weissman was presented an offer from Disney Products to craft a Munchlings around 2 years ago. Chef Weissman then thought back to the story of Mickey Mouse and her daughter, and being a lover of her home country Germany, realized the colors almost match perfectly (Black, Red, and Yellow. Or in Germany Black, Red, and Schwarz-Rot-Gold).

The chef wanted to make something both sweet and savory, so the new Mickey Mouse Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl Plush was born. This is a long story to tell you the new plush was presented today at the World of Disney in Disney Springs and the limited edition plush is now on sale.

We got a chance to check out the event, which we do anytime Disney Springs holds a food demonstration. Speaking of which, we should get some information about the Flavors of Florida summer cooking demos soon. We had a great morning, and cannot recommend it enough.

Congratulations to Chef Weissman and the Disney Munchlings teams for this cute creation. Judging by the line to meet the chefs and buy the new plush, it is a hit with fans.
