The Walt Disney Company is donating $1 million to support critical relief and recovery efforts in Jamaica following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa.
The funds will help Disney cast and crew in the region, along with nonprofits such as UNICEF USA, World Central Kitchen, and Good360. This aid will provide emergency supplies, food, shelter, and other essential services to families and communities rebuilding after the storm.
“Our hearts go out to the people of Jamaica… We hope this contribution… will serve as a source of relief and comfort,” said CEO Bob Iger.
This contribution is part of Disney’s continuous disaster relief efforts, which also include the Disney Employee Relief Fund. Disney Cruise Line has had a port presence in Jamaica for over a decade.
