Disney’s 2025 Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Marked by Muted Promotion.

Walt Disney World’s 2025 celebration of Latino and Hispanic Heritage Month, ‘Together We are Magia,’ has been marked by a significant reduction in public promotion compared to previous years, raising questions about a shift in the company’s PR strategy for diversity and inclusion

This reduced publicity is not an isolated incident in 2025. We can go back to February 2025 and Black History Month, June of 2025 for Pride Month, and May 2025 AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month), and see that this has been happening all year. Disney didn’t even mention HER story in 2025 for Women’s History Month.

What makes 2025 different than past years? One answer may be that Disney has decided to try to make celebrating underrepresented communities a year-long celebration instead of one month at a time. Furthermore, this new strategy by Disney Parks may be a way to internally celebrate their cast and community, and not look like they are trying to score points with a “side”; the political undertone of anything Disney does is ripe for scrutiny. Together We are Magia” is the yearly Walt Disney World celebration of Latino and Hispanic Heritage Month. Together We Are Magia! Join our Disney familia as we celebrate Hispanic and Latin American cultures throughout the year. The event is celebrated with special food and drinks, entertainment, and characters from Coco and Encanto, plus Disney highlights, Cast Members, and Artists. The month acknowledges the rich cultures and histories of Americans with roots in Spain, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

The PR strategy from Disney Parks for heritage celebrations has been consistently subdued in 2025. The current silence regarding Latino Hispanic Heritage Month is echoing the minimal coverage of Pride Month 2025. While the Walt Disney World website and the Disney Springs websites have been updated, the Disney Parks Blog and social media accounts have been almost silent in 2025.

I want to preface this by saying it is September 26th, and Disney Parks may still post something. If and when they do, we will give full coverage to that also.

Typically, Disney Parks, Walt Disney World, and Disney Springs have released Foodie Guides, Celebration Guides, and Cast Member stories. These articles and social media posts start to appear at the end of August, gearing up for the event held from September 15th through October 15th.

There have been a total of three official social media posts for the “Together We are Magia” celebration. Disney Parks Blog has zero articles in 2025. Walt Disney World actually hosted influencers at an event for the month-long celebration, featuring a Mexican breakfast with Mariachi Cobre and a special appearance by Miquel from Coco.

Compared to past years, specifically talking about “Together We are Magia,” This list reflects just the Walt Disney World side of Disney Parks Blog, and not even the Disneyland celebrations.

This does not mean Walt Disney World and Disney Springs aren’t actually celebrating Latino and Hispanic Heritage Month. In fact, it is the opposite; they have many ways for guests to enjoy and learn:

  • The Eat to the Beat concert series will feature an amazing lineup with Bacilos, Sheila E., Latin Ambition, and La Calle Band.
  • Disney Adventure Friends Cavelcade in the Magic Kingdom will feature a special Together We are Magia parade, and you can meet Mirabel at the Park.
  • Celebration Encanto is ongoing at Epcot, plus a visit to the Mexico Pavilion for folk art and Mariachi Cobre.
  • Disney Springs has special menu items throughout the shopping district, along with Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression. There are also individual restaurants celebrating the month.
