ARRGH! Disney’s New Pirate Lounge Reservations Hit Rough Waters, Postponed to Next Week. Disney fans eager to plunder reservations for the new pirate-themed lounge, The Beak and Barrel, were met with a server crash yesterday morning, August 15. The technical difficulties have led to a postponement of the reservation launch, with a new date now set for next week.
The Magic Kingdom’s first-ever full-service lounge, scheduled to open on August 29, was met with overwhelming demand as the reservation window was set to open at 6:00 a.m. EST. The Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience app were unable to handle the surge of traffic.
Instead of securing a spot at the tavern, guests encountered a series of error messages. Due to technical difficulties, reservations for Beak & Barrel will not launch today. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check back for updates. Ahoy! Drop anchor and raise a toast at this spirited pirate tavern serving seaworthy sips and snacks for all ages.
This morning, the new message reads:
“Arrgh! Too many pirates tried to pillage at The Beak and Barrel. Thank you for yer patience. Come back for the treasure ye seek when reservations set sail the week of August 18, 2025.”
The message confirms that reservations for The Beak and Barrel have been delayed until the following week. This is a significant update for guests who spent hours refreshing their screens, only to be met with error messages like “It might be Hei Hei’s Fault…” and “We’re Down for Maintenance!”
The Beak and Barrel is a “swashbuckling tavern” that promises a new, immersive experience in Adventureland. The menu will feature Caribbean-inspired spirits and cocktails for guests 21 and up, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic drinks and small plates for pirates of all ages. The lounge’s backstory centers around Captain Merry Goldwyn and her parrot quartermaster, Rummy, and will include storytelling and sing-alongs.
