Rivers of America and Half the Walt Disney World Railroad Wiped from the Magic Kingdom Map. Guests heading into the Magic Kingdom this morning are in for a very different version of the guide map. For the first time in over 50 years, the Rivers of America has been officially removed from guide maps, and soon from the Magic Kingdom completely. While the Walt Disney World Railroad has lost half the track on the map.

Yesterday at Walt Disney World, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat – Lilly Belle closed forever. Overnight, the Disney World App and the in-park guide maps have been updated to show a huge blank spot circling from the Haunted Mansion around to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The Walt Disney World Railroad track between Main Street USA and Fantasyland Station heads towards Frontierland Station and around that side of the Magic Kingdom.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is operating between Fantasyland and Main Street USA: To make way for the largest expansion in history at Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad will be operating under a modified route that excludes Frontierland station beginning July 7. The attraction will operate as a shuttle between Main Street Station and Fantasyland Station only.

Tom Sawyer’s Island has officially closed as of 7:00 PM, and the Liberty Belle Riverboat, FKA The Robert F. Irvine, closed at 8:00 PM EST. Which means that the whole of Rivers of America in Walt Disney World‘s Magic Kingdom is officially closed and due for demolition starting July 7th, 2025. This is all being done to make way for a new Cars-themed land coming soon called Piston Peak National Park. The new land in Frontierland will feature two new attractions.
