Animation Courtyard Disney World’s Cool Kids Summer Makeover. On May 27th, 2025, Cool Kids Summer will start at Walt Disney World, and when Disney’s Hollywood Studios opens that morning for guests, the Animation Courtyard will feel and be almost brand new. With the opening of The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, a new show called “Get Animated” inside the Disney Junior Play and Dance, and at Animation Courtyard! Kids can play games and make crafts all day. You might see magicians, jump rope tricks, and even surprise visits from your favorite characters!
Before Animation Courtyard opens on May 27th, the actual walls of the building, which had been used as backdrops for meet and greets with Pluto, Doc McStuffins, Vampyrina, and Fancy Nancy, are being repainted in a new theme of drawing and animation. Small details include Mickey’s hand holding a pencil, along with paint brushes painting new scenes of Hollywood Studios. The Tower of Terror is part of the backdrop.
