The Elf re-release popcorn bucket is a 100oz jack-in-the-box tin for $27.99, and Marcus Theatres is selling it online now with a $14.99 Buddy the Elf 24oz drink bottle. Both ship after November 27, ahead of Elf returning to theaters on December 12, and Regal is teasing its own Elf cup with a video that says “He’s defrosting.” While everyone is waiting for Dune and Doomsday popcorn buckets, Elf could be the one that sells out fastest. People love this movie!
Elf’s big return to theaters is Saturday, December 12, 2026. That is December the TwELFth, the Elf celebration day Warner Bros. Discovery started last year, when the movie came back to theaters in a sing-along edition with on-screen lyrics and trivia. We checked Fandango, and Cinemark showtimes start that day. AMC, Regal and Marcus had not posted Elf showtimes yet, but last year’s re-release also opened December 12, so we expect them to follow. We will update this story when they post times.
The tin looks like a classic jack-in-the-box, with a yellow crank on the side and a yellow hinged lid on top. One side has a Buddy silhouette with his hands on his hips standing between the letters of the Elf logo, and the other side has his pointy hat over the words “Raised by Elves.” Snowflakes are pressed into the panels, with gold swirls along the edges. Marcus does not say whether the crank turns or plays music, so treat it as a look, not a toy, until we see one in hand.
The 24oz drink bottle is sculpted as Buddy from his hat to his curled shoes, hands on his hips, with yellow tights and a yellow straw coming out of his hat. The Elf logo letters wrap the base in green and gold, and the bottle comes with a removable lid. Buying both comes to $42.98 before shipping. You can order the Elf jack-in-the-box popcorn tin and the Buddy drink bottle from Marcus Theatres now.
Regal posted a short video of a cup frozen in a block of ice with the words “He’s defrosting” and “Coming soon to Regal.” The cup in the ice has the same green suit, white collar, black belt with a gold buckle and yellow straw as the Marcus bottle, so it may be the same design. Regal has not shared a name, price or date yet.
Marcus has been one of the busiest chains for online theater merch this year, from its Spider-Man: Brand New Day buckets and tumblers, to the newest HEXED, to this Elf pair. Marcus also brought Elf back for its Season’s Screenings series last December, so a holiday showing at Marcus would not be a surprise.
We will add AMC, Cinemark and every other chain as they reveal Elf merch on our Movie Theater Popcorn Buckets hub.
