Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is giving its Convention Center a makeover. Disney Meetings and Events shared the first look at the new design. Disney is also updating spaces in El Centro, the resort’s main building. Walt Disney Imagineering is helping with the design. It takes ideas from Spain, Mexico and the American Southwest.
The new look includes new finishes, new furniture and new shared spaces. The early art shows tall arched windows, bright patterned carpet and comfy lounge chairs. The Convention Center is big. It has more than 228,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
The good news is that it will stay open the whole time. Disney will do the work in phases around events. Disney has not shared a start or finish date.
Our take: This is mostly news for people who plan big meetings. But if you stay at Coronado Springs, it means fresh new spaces at the resort down the road. Find more news about Disney World resorts.
