Disney Store is releasing a new Disney Store Exclusive The Muppet Christmas Carol collection on DisneyStore.com on Monday, October 19, at 8 a.m. PT, with first access going to Private Access members. The drop includes Christmas Carol plush, figural ornaments and a red Gonzo and Rizzo mini backpack, and it is the latest addition to our Disney consumer products coverage heading into the holidays.
The plush dress the characters in their roles from the 1992 film. Kermit wears Bob Cratchit’s top hat and scarf, Miss Piggy is in Emily Cratchit’s plaid dress, and Statler and Waldorf show up as the ghostly Marley brothers in pale blue with chains hanging at their sides. Bean Bunny, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker round out the group, and several of the plush have a loop on top so they can hang on the tree.
A separate set of figural ornaments covers more of the cast. Gonzo as Charles Dickens, Rizzo the Rat, Robin as Tiny Tim, Bean Bunny, Kermit and Miss Piggy each hang from a ribbon, and the promo photos show them packaged in green Muppets boxes.
The bag is a red mini backpack with a tonal pattern pressed into it and a front panel of Gonzo and Rizzo framed by a holly wreath and a big red bow. It is a smart choice for the front of the bag, since the narrating duo carry so much of the movie’s humor.
Private Access is Disney Store’s early access program for its email, text and app subscribers. To shop it, sign up for Disney Store emails, texts or the Disney Store app, then make sure you are logged into your Disney account when the collection goes live at 8 a.m. PT, which is 11 a.m. ET. Disney Store has not posted prices yet, and it has not said when or whether the collection opens to all shoppers after the early window. The drop is listed on the Disney Store coming soon page.
