Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual Countdown to Christmas begins Friday, October 16, 2026, with 34 original movies, 10 more than last year, plus a new season of Mistletoe Murders and a three-city Jingle Stop Tour tied to the season’s three biggest collaboration films. Michelle Vicary, head of programming at Hallmark Media, tied this year’s expanded slate directly to the network’s 25th anniversary, crediting fans for the network’s growth from a handful of holiday marathons in its first year to a full 10-week run of new premieres today.
Beyond the movies themselves, Hallmark is building out a full slate of real-world events this season. The already-announced Hallmark Christmas Cruise runs October 23 through 27, and the Hallmark Christmas Experience returns to Kansas City every weekend from Thanksgiving through Christmas. New this year is a three-city Jingle Stop Tour visiting Chicago, Orlando, and Asheville, North Carolina, the filming locations behind Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, and A Grand Biltmore Christmas respectively.

Spacing Holiday Touchdown, Holiday Ever After, and A Grand Biltmore Christmas roughly two weeks apart, and now building an entire tour around those same three cities, looks like a deliberate fix for a real criticism of recent seasons, where one heavily promoted movie tends to swallow attention that other genuinely good releases needed to find their audience. Giving each of the three its own weekend and its own live event gives the rest of a genuinely massive 34-movie schedule room to actually get noticed.
Chabert’s role in Holiday Ever After lines up with another big moment for her this season. She’s also narrating the EPCOT Candlelight Processional on December 22 and 23, giving her two separate reasons to be the face of Disney’s holiday season this year.
