Matrimony and murder reign supreme as Gethsemane Brown returns in Hallmark Channel’s ghostly whodunit. Fall Into Love is so much more than a cozy romance. It’s also time for a cozy mystery. Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Prelude to a Murder premieres tonight on Hallmark Channel and will stream tomorrow on Hallmark+.
Spoiler-Free Review
Tamera Mowry-Housley returns for her fourth time as music teacher and ghost-whisperer, Gethsemane Brown. This time, Gethsemane gets invited to perform at a wedding by Griff (Marco Grazzini). The festivities hit a roadblock as a member of the wedding party is found dead. Gethsemane teams up once again with Eamon (Risteard Cooper) to solve the mystery.

If you are a fan of the Haunted Harmony Mysteries, then this is perfect for you. If you are picking up this one as your first, you may be disappointed. You really do need at least the first one to understand the dynamic between Gethsemane, Griff, Eamon, and Inspector O’Reilly. There is the ever-present will they won’t, they almost love triangle. Who will Gethsemane choose as her love interest? We just don’t know yet.

But let’s be fair. I don’t know about you, but I’m tuning in for the relationship between Gethsemane and Eamon. Tamera and Risteard have an undeniable chemistry as scene partners. They’re playful and seemingly trusting together. This is the dynamic that keeps me watching the Haunted Harmony Mysteries. It takes a special kind of comedic timing to convincingly argue with thin air, and Tamera Mowry-Housley nails it every time. Risteard Cooper continues to be the scene stealer in any scene he’s in. The script is so well written for him. Together, these two are the stars!

There is a different feel to this outing, and that is thanks to the director. Hallmark star and director Ali Liebert helmed this outing. She brings a fresh and well-paced perspective. Come back again, Ali! Haunted Harmony Mysteries is based on the book series by Alexia Gordon and follows American expat and music teacher, Gethsemane Brown.
If you’re looking for a gritty and suspenseful mystery, this is not for you. But if you are looking for gorgeous Irish scenery, music teacher and ghost buddy detectives, and just a cozy mystery, then Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Prelude to a Wedding is right for you.
