David Gray and the Eiffel Tower make the greatest romantic backdrop in this episode. Who knew that a stunning red dress and a plate of fries could be tops on the romance list, but it is. The newest episode of Paris Is Always a Good Idea left us feeling all kinds of emotions. In the episode titled Knightly, we get the origin story of Chelsea and Knightly.
Paris Is Always a Good Idea is the limited series streaming on Hallmark +. This stars Lacey Chabert and Scott Michael Foster as Chelsea Martin and Jason Knightly. You can watch the first four episodes now on Hallmark+. The final two episodes will air on August 20 and August 27.
Knightly joined the ACC after a viral campaign and is thrust into Chelsea’s world as a partner. We already knew that they had a rival relationship. Starting to see the rivalry break down during their time in Paris and the friendship bloom has been a beautiful journey.
Chelsea continues her storytelling and says that Knightly is her biggest What if? The red dress with his jacket over her shoulders is a classic romantic look. The walk along the Seine River is another classic. The almost kiss interrupted by a phone is another classic.
During the meeting they attend starts going wrong for Chelsea, and Knightly steps in and defends her and furthers the negotiation. Knightly confesses that he joined the ACC after seeing Chelsea’s passion for her work. He admits that he’s falling for her. All these things add up to the romance of this episode.
While attending the dinner with their Parisian hosts, Lacey’s performance brought a tear to my eye. The cancer talk between them should be important to anyone who hears it. It’s emotional and raw. It speaks of early detection and fighting for every person that Cancer touches, whether personally or through family/friends.
Ok, it may just be me, or it may be that the Eiffel Tower at night and the beautiful This Year’s Love by David Gray playing is every bit of the romantic fantasy! At the top of the Tower, Knightly is afraid of heights, so Chelsea distracts him. We learn a bit about the two of them a bit. The hand touch that leads to the almost kiss again!
Knightly wants her to go to Marcos, but she admits that she’s falling for him, and the kiss finally happens with the Eiffel Tower in the background. The kiss continues all the way up the elevator and has to stop because Chelsea’s sister, Annabelle, is sitting outside the hotel room waiting for her. Annabelle talks about her leaving Declan in Ireland and her past love that is still dictating her life because she’s still in love with him. Chelsea heads to Spain to see Marcos.
This is, like I said before, a more mature Hallmark Channel. Lacey Chabert is fantastic in this role. She was made for it. Jenn McKinlay and Hallmark Channel have outdone themselves with these characters and stories. We are all better for this chapter, and I will resoundingly concur that Paris Is Always a Good Idea.
